Competition? NWA title is still more relevant than 90% of Indy titles

They mentioned JD Maverick being a tv champion in OVW.

Why? Dude IF The NWA wants money whenever someone attempts to use one of their trademarks IE the NWA World title belt and Piper doesn't want to pay then you do not see any reference to the NWA World title.

WHY do you not see Pearce being referred too as a 5x former NWA World champ in CWFH? He is called a 5x World champ period!

Take the rose colored glasses off man. The NWA owners have a crappy rep right now. Who's to say that they don't try to get royalties when ever the NWA is mentioned??

Royalties? LOL, this is not WWE we talking about. This is your random local indy on a local station.

Hahahahaha

Shawn, You're really biased about the NWA man. Nobody except the hardcore fans care about the NWA Title anymore the rest of the wrestling population laugh at it.

Don't believe me? Go and google "Kahagas NWA World Champion" there is multiple forums on the internet making fun of Kahagas and the NWA in general talking about how they have never heard of him and how the NWA means nothing

Also gmellos is right. NWA would be owed something if they advertised Kahagas as an NWA Champion in an attempt to make money off him regardless of how many homes that TV Show makes. Even putting Kahagas on a poster and advertising him as "Current NWA World Champion" the NWA would be owed something legally.

And since we all know how money hungry Bruce Tharpe is I wouldn't be surprised if Portland Wrestling said something like "Can we mention Kahagas is the NWA Champion" and Tharpe saying "Sure, If you pay 300 bucks to join us"

Internationally you can get away with it because an international lawsuit for something so small isn't worth it but when it's the same country you really have to watch yourself.

The NWA sent out cease and decease letters to Mid Atl Legends and CWFH what makes you think he wouldn't attempt to ask for royalty money from Portland Wrestling?

And even if the NWA wouldn't why would Portland Wrestling take the chance?

I gave Kahagas a chance. He's had the belt for 3 and a half months and has done absolutely nothing with it. The biggest name he's defended against is either 58 year old Manny Fernandez or Wolfie D. Nothing against those guys but if they're the biggest names you've defended against you're in trouble.

Some say The Sheik is a bad champion and that he did nothing for the title. I wonder what those same people think about Kahagas.

Shawn you are the polar opposite of me on this board (Which is okay) but even you have to admit that Kahagas is not doing great with the title.

The only thing he's done with the belt that even mattered was a bad shoot with Bruce Santee and even then that mattered for the wrong reasons.

I think Kahagas hasn't been adequately supported by the NWA. This isn't anything new. They did the same thing to "Scrap Iron." On his first run. Which really means that Kahagas probably should hustle a bit more to get himself out there. Now Portland Uncut was big, but he didn't wear the title. The WWL thing could be huge, but he better bring the belt with him.

Had a "Named" Wrestler done it would you be fine with the tribute.

I honestly think the current NWA World Champ or anyone paying their respects to Kerry von Erich is A ok in my books and it certainly wouldn't "creepy"

Nice try but no.

Paying respects to a friend or family member is fine but it is a little creepy that someone not linked to the Von Erich family is not only visiting a grave (Of someone they probably never met) but is also taking photos of the grave and uploading it to Facebook to try and get a little bit of publicity.

Taking a photo of anyone's grave stone is just wrong I don't need to explain that. The fact it's the NWA champ doesn't matter. It could be the WWE Champion, TNA Champion, ROH Champion or any legend/"name" and it'd still be wrong.

Because it's the mans resting place it's a very personal thing it shouldn't be seen as a public attraction or something to take photos of.

Plus it's really really weird that ANYONE would take a photo of a grave even if it was a close friend or family member

He was showing respect to a former NWA World Champ.

Even I who HATED Sheik's reign as NWA World Champ would not have a issue if he visited a former World Champ's grave to pay his respect.

I think your dislike of Kahagas is blinding u!

No he's doing it for publicity. If he wanted to simply pay respect to a former NWA World Champion he wouldn't of taken a photo.

The photo is the issue here.

I don't hate him personally or as a performer. I actually find him to be an okay worker he needs some work but a lot of independent wrestlers do. I DO make it known that I think he's a poor choice for World Champion but that has nothing to do with the photo

As I said above, I'd react the same way if The Rock went and did the same thing.

The only opinions that matter in this issue would be Kevin's and Kerry's girls.

Since none of know what Kahagas's reasons were everyone needs to get over it.

Polejump. You are always saying negative shit about the guy!

No where in the photo did it say I'm Kahagas and I took this photograph!

Shawn said that NOT Kahagas! So where is he doing anything for publicity?

For all we know Kahagas could be a HUGE Kerry von Erich mark and wanted to visit his grave sight to pay respect but all you is crap on the guy!

My issue is with Polejump. All he does is crap on Kahagas every chance he gets. he seems to get all bent out of shape over anything Kahagas goes.

Sometimes I wonder if he is just trolling?

It's on Kahagas Facebook page and he said he took it.

Got over 200 likes, no negative comments either.

Maybe it's an Australian thing but in the US it's a sign of respect and love. I would understand polejump if Kahagas was actually in the picture but he's not.

True. Or maybe it is just Polejump hating on Kahagas (cause that is all he does) or he is just trying to troll us??

I say negative things about the way he is booked and the way he portrays his character. I have the right to my opinion as do you in thinking he's good.

And yes, It does basically say "I'm Kahagas and I took the photo" it says "Photo Taken By: Kahagas 11/11/12" it was also posted on his Facebook page he clearly wanted some type of publicity from it.

As I said above I don't really have an issue with Kahagas on a personal level or in ring I just mainly have issue with some of the things he does that comes off as very fan boyish (Being a Muta clone, Breaking kayfabe online, taking photos of wrestlers graves) in ring he's fine and personally I can't judge him as I don't know him well enough to but I've never heard anything bad so I can only assume he's a good guy.

As for trolling, If I wanted to troll all of you wouldn't I go after someone that is widely loved within the NWA such as Adam Pearce or Damien Wayne rather than the guy that people have mixed opinions on? Some people just don't like Kahagas I'm clearly not the only one because the guy gets booked in the same 2-3 regions and nobody else books him.

It's not an Australian thing the culture here is pretty similar to the United States it's just my personal opinion. I never claimed the entire world thought it was creepy but to me personally taking a photo of a grave is indeed creepy under any circumstance.

It's just an opinion like everything that's posted up on here (Except news) I wish people wouldn't take my opinions so seriously.

Well of course towards Kahagas they are because I feel he's in an improper spot that he doesn't deserve to be in.

Towards the NWA in general? Not so much.
