Hey Group!
I was doing some research on a different subject of interest and I got way off of the track and ended up at a rather odd web site. This web site was about Nephilim, a race of Biblical giants, said to be the offspring of fallen angels and the daughters of men. Anyway, they have a page devoted to the discoveries of giant bones, which they consider evidence to support their theories. Some of these discoveries were in places like Ohio, PA, WVa, Minnesota, Nevada. Let's see, giant "human" bones in several U.S. states. This web site (which is kinda "out there") is talking about Nephilim. I'm thinking Sasquatch. They even relate an anecdote from Ivan Sanderson!
A couple of questions come to mind.
Has anyone heard of these "discoveries"? I have not yet tried to check any of this out. There is documentation cited for some of these finds.
I wonder if any of these remains still exist and if so where and would anyone be able to re-examine them?
Here is a link,

Aye, there's the rub. These tantalizing stories -- replete with citations to ancient texts and other sources -- have been percolating for quite some time. But where are the bones? What with so many discoveries all across the continent over nearly a century, you'd think there would be drawers full of giant skulls and femurs at the Smithsonain (Jeff Meldrum would probably have a few as well) -- but there aren't.

I saw in Indiana Jones all that stuff is kept in a large warehouse Mr. Bogs.
The Nephilim means earth born between fallen Angles and women whom they picked. The Nephilim were killed in the flood of Noah, and their evil spirits wander the earth. That is what is written in ancient Jewish writtings.
They can not be Sasquatch. I do not think I would be alive if Sasquatch was evil.

| The bible says that Nephilim were around both before and after the flood according to my study of it. As much as I would like to tie these biblical "giants" to bigfoot I am just not able to make the leap. If you look at their behavior they were evil, sinister, and aggressive, hardly squatch like. |

Never meant to imply that Sasquatch were Nephilim. The web site that I posted chose to interpret the finding of giant stature human or human like skeletal remains as proof of their position.
Take the whole Nephilim reference out of the equation.
Now, we are just left with 7 to 10 foot (or larger) hominid skeletal remains found in many locations in the U.S.
What were they? Giant people? Sasquatch? Tall tales? Probably a lot of these reports were tall tales. But if there was a grain of truth in any of these reports, most of them dating from the 1800's, then it is sad that the evidence wasn't preserved so that we would know whether it was Sasquatch related or not.
I have tried to research some of the finds listed on the web site. Newspaper archives from that long ago, if you can find them at all, are not much help. Wikipedia debunks the Humboldt County, Nevada find, saying that the remains, which are in a museum, were all of normal human stature. I did find photos of a couple of the remains listed, but could not verify the authenticity of the photos. Not all who wander are lost. |

I agree that the Nephilim aren't part of the equation (and never were) but, as you've discovered, after all the leads are followed and all the old photos are examined, you're still left with the fundamental question: where are the bones?
I was intrigued by the reference -- in the linked article -- to the discovery of such bones in the Aleutian Islands in the not-so-distant past (presumably some time during or shortly after WWII). The bones were found during the construction of a landing strip -- or so the story goes. Who knows? Maybe some old Seabee has a squatch skull sitting on his mantle (right next to a Japanese helmet or a soapstone walrus). On the internet, no one knows you're a squatch. . . |

I went to the link, read about a whole bunch of Giant bones finds all over the place.
So where's the bones? Are any of them avilable for our viewing pleasure or is this like when someone says they took Ashley Judd to the prom but lost the prom pictures? Did you know that there are hundreds of cultures world wide that have a Big Foot Legend and name for the creature? How do you explain that? |

Remember 2 things about giants:
1. In the old days, to be a giant might mean that you are merely a 6-footer when everybody else around you is 5'4".
2. In folklore/myth/religion people or other characters are often given attributes depending on their relative importance. An influential or fearsome person (like a king or an invader) will be described as a "giant among men," in a kind of metaphor.
Additionally, these are often the sort of person who get "immortalized" as legends; Joe Normal Bronze Age (or even Paleolithic) Guy fades away unknown into the mists of prehistory. seeing is believing |
