Hi Folks-
What I've gathered from reading all of the posts here is that BF sightings are everywhere. The odd thing though, is that no one can actually find them. It's always on their terms or completely random.
Where do they live? What do they eat? Why aren't there some trailcam pics. While I'm aware of the one in PA, I've not seen any others except one that looked obviously like a fake to me. There should be many many more.
While I do believe they are out there, I cannot understand why we can't locate them. We are obviously overlooking something.
Maybe something obvious.
I spend alot of time on Google Earth. I recently started using the tool that allows you to watch the sun rise and set. You can loop it and speed it up so that a cycle takes only a few seconds. While I don't know exactly how accurate this is, I have found spots that never get any direct sunlight. And since the areas that I'm looking at are heavily wooded, it seems that these areas are most likely very dark spots all day long.
Unfortunately, the tool only lets you see today. You can't move it out to a date in the future. I know where the spots are today, but I don't know where they will be, or even "if" they will be there as the sun travels higher in the sky towards summer. Regardless if they are there or not, there will still be areas that remain shaded for longer periods then others.
I went to the area where the patterson footage was shot. I don't know the exact spot, so I zoomed out and ran the day night thing. I gradually descended as I could eliminate the well lit areas. I eventually found a fairly large area just west of the actual creek bed that, at least yesterday, never recieved any direct sunlight. It remained blacked out through the entire sequence.
I've mainly been looking for the spots in the nearby Hoosier National Forest. I have found a few so far and have place marked them. I'm heading out there in about a month to spend a few nights. One spot looks very nice. Can't wait.
Anyways, yes, i'm long winded. I just want to throw things out there for people to take a look at. I look at these forums as brainstorming areas. Even if what I'm looking at and seeing is not the answer, it may give someone else an idea that is.
Oh, and I'm working on a food source as well. Been doing some research and have an idea, but not gonna post it until I think it's worth your time.

There are numerous topics in this forum that can help answer your questions. If you're like most of us who frequent this site, you'll enjoy reading through as many topics as possible.
For me, the short answer to all your questions is this... they are smarter than we thought. If you could talk to some experienced investigators many of them will tell you they've had to seriously rethink their estimates of sasquatch intelligence. |

Might be a good idea to give the OP the link to the BFRO Sightings Database on Google Earth, i'm sure he'd enjoy it..
I can't seem to find the link though & it doesn't seem to be on the main Page any more.. I believe. |

One of the best utilizations of Google Earth I've seen has been done by PBYodeler.
As a BFRO investigator and expedition organizer, PBYodeler has been able to combine his knowledge of sasquatch habits and habitat with the mapping resources of Google Earth to help him predict good locations for expeditions.
We had some excellent sasquatch activity on the 2009 BC Interior expedition. During that expedition PBYodeler told me he chose the site by reviewing what he knew of the area's past activity and utilizing Google Earth to help confirm his suspicions that the area was prime squatch habitat.
I can't provide details about PBYodeler's technique, but I can encourage others to make full use of the technology which is currently available. It is technology, in the form of computer mapping resources, thermal imagers, and night vision cameras, which will eventually bring sasquatch into mainstream reality. |
