The details in the article are sketchy. Who are the scientists? Are they 'hunting' or hoping to find or trying to capture? Sasquatch/Yeti explorers hae been communicating and sharing information for years.
It would be interesting to have some detail, then we'd know if it was a big deal or more like when Igor was here in the US earlier this year.

I'm sure Dr. Meldrum is one of them. He told me he had planned to attend the conference. I'll send Igor an email and see what I can find out. Trapper Tom

Some good news!
BFRO investigator Ingemar Ramell from Sweden will be there to represent us!
Hopefully, he'll give us a report about the conference.

Might be a different link, but it's generally the same info in the article as is in other threads.

Hundreds of tourists touring the cave will no doubt assure that yeti does not appear! "Technological advances are not limited to human populations." |

I'm feeling some dread for the creatures after what I'm already reading. I guess I didnt' give that much thought to what would happen whenever they come out with scientists saying they do exist, but so far this seems worse than I expected! Cathy |

much as i hate to admit it, i think the yahoo article is right, and this whole craze of undisputed evidence of the yeti is just gonna fade away, like all the other times. sorry to be a pessimist guys... they're closer than we think... |

cadensp,
I agree. Most people aren't going to spend the time, effort, or money, just to go out to some remote location with their wife and kids for the weekend, on the off chance that they MAY see something other than locals playing tourist games/jokes with them (leaving big footprints, howling, etc). Sure, research groups might go, but I would think most people have enough common sense not to mess with scientists and researchers. Ya got nuthin' ta lose but yer Zagnuts. |

I'm curious to know if anyone has heard anything about the next steps here. Seems like, in a matter of 10 days, the group has completely clammed up.
Also, the articles keep referring to a 'team of scientists'. Has anyone any idea who comprises said team?

One of them was Anatoly Fokin. Dr. Bindernagel was at the conference, but I don't know if he was on the expedition itself. Ya got nuthin' ta lose but yer Zagnuts. |

Heard over on a radio show that Dr Meldrum felt a little "duped" by the whole Siberian expedition and felt it had more to do with boosting local tourism in the area than any actual hard scientific research.
