There will be a new process for reporting on the expeditions. This new process will apply to prior expeditions (especially those for which expedition reports have not been released) and for future expeditions.
Participants of the expeditions will be directed to post their own observations directly on this message board. The occurrences on the expeditions can be discussed with the public, but certain information should not be discussed, such as specific location names, or local witness names, or certain aspects of the process, the release of which might compromise our own safety in the field.

Regarding photos:
Photos can be included in your notes if you are registered on this board (i.e. you can log in). If you are registered and you want to find out how to insert photos into your post, go to the top of the page and look for the "My Account" button. Click that then look at the top of the next page. Find "My Image Gallery". Click that link and follow those instructions for resizing and uploading images.
Most photos need to be resized and compressed because there is a 150K file size limit for photos. If hi-res versions of photos need to be shown, you will need to insert a link to a web site like PhotoBucket, etc., that can host larger image files.[/right]

The purpose for this new procedure is to widen the bottleneck in getting out the releaseable information. Some people may have assumed that the lack of expedition reports in the past year indicated a lack of success on the expeditions. The truth is just the opposite. The success of the expeditions led to the acquisition of more equipment, and some smaller non-public expeditions, all happening while more public expeditions were being organized. Each one of these things is very time consuming, so some things needed to be de-prioritized.
The purpose of the expeditions has NEVER been to make the expeditions more popular, but rather to refine the methods for finding these animals, and refine the techniques for filming and recording animals at night without any kind of artificial illumination.
Those goals have been the priorities, so expedition reports have taken a back seat, because they don't move us toward our main goal at this point: earth-shaking footage or photos.
There are many sound recording clips which were gathered on the expeditions. Those clips can be released or linked to this board.
There are some photos/footage of bigfoots which have not been released publicly, and there are ongoing efforts to obtain more and better photos/footage at those same locations.
The images/video already obtained do not rise to level of commercial wildlife footage, because they are either too brief, or too unclear, or both. They are very compelling to those who were at the scene, but might not be instantly persuasive to the average person.
The most dramatic video clips are relatively short, and need to be replayed many times in order get the most out of them.
We feel it is wise for the relevant researchers to obtain photos/footage that are instantly persuasive and compelling to the average person, before releasing anything.
Publicly releasing any legitimate but unsatisfying photos/videos, before obtaining more satisfying and persuasive photos/videos, could be counterproductive to their efforts, mainly because of the frustrated, predictably skeptical reactions that many people will have.
It is simply easier to hold back on releasing what has been gathered so far, and move toward obtaining clearer visuals, rather than to spend a lot of time defending the lower quality images.
This effort is difficult enough, so we need to avoid complicating it whenever we can.
This approach will understandably create impatience for those who are not involved, but that's preferable to creating impatience for those who are making the effort.
The observations and occurrences on the expeditions are the most profound empirical proof to those who attended an expedition, but there are definitely hurdles and legitimate concerns surrounding the conveyance of those experiences and observations to a mass audience, or to anyone who was not at the scene.
If you have attended one of the expeditions, and you had an incident on the trip, or you are generally familiar with the observations that others had, please register on this message board so you can tell your story and take questions about it.
If you are an expeditioner who will post something on this board, be prepared to have parts of your posts altered or censored, if we feel it contains certain sensitive information that should not be made public.
Please use nicknames instead of actual place names. You should be able to recognize the nicknames coined on the trip(s) you attended. For example, some of the place names on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia have the following nicknames: "Protester" ; ".9 mile camp at No-Name"; "Upper Wormy Perch"; "Blackberry Heaven"; "Beaver Pond"; etc.
For the recent North Carolina trip, the relevant occurences happened near "North Powerlines" ; "South Powerlines" and "Basecamp".
The Oklahoma nicknames: "North Zone" and "South Zone".
Florida: "Horse Camp" ; "Palmetto Bay"
Oregon: "East Flank" ; "Trailhead" ; "West Flank"
Southern California is an exception. We can be more specific and use actual placenames in this case, because nothing happened on that expedition, and because we have doubts about there being any bigfoots this far south. Only one area still needs to be checked out in So. Cal., where some possible tracks were found, and there is little concern about creating even more pressure on the area than it already has, because of droves of weekend picnickers from East Los Angeles who leave behind piles of garbage and uneaten food every weekend.
Feel free to tell all about those locations.

Thanks for the update and info! I just got back from a three week trip back up into the BC Islands. I never had any positive sightings or tracks. Weird feelings a couple times but could have been ghostes. It has been so hot here I think the Sasquatchs could have gone up into the high country to get away from flies and heat. Deer and Elk will actually bed down on the glacier snow fields to escape flies. I wonder if BF would do the same? At least they would follow the game. 1Sunseeker On the plains of hesitation bleach the bones of those who on the dawn of victory sat down to rest. |
