brutus,

You know better than that. Any location details won't be posted publicly. All you'll get here is Missouri Ozarks. If anyone wants to know the exact locations of the expeditions they will have to attend them.

This was my first expo and I had a great time. I learned so much and hopefully will be able to attend even more and learn as much as I can. I may have been too excited on this expo, but hey it was my first. I think I over packed and then did not expect it to be that cold. Anyway Ron really did a good job.

This was again another excellent expedition with this team. As usual Robo's cooking was on point. The investigators were very helpful and answered any and all questions posed by all of us. Robo and team did their homework and provided us with the background and knowledge needed to have a sucessful expedition. We had alot of activity and I myself seen some eye shine along with vocals.

Let me just say that the expedition was only as successful as it was, because of the fine people that attended it. I tried some new techniques in this Expedition such as the noon debriefings and constant reminders of procedures and rules(flashlights) and there wasn't a bad apple in the barrel.

That's OK. Most of the expedition locations are ongoing research sites for the organizers so having the general public find out where they are located can cause a lot of problems. Especially in this case where it happened on private property. When we have ongoing encounters in a location where the property owners give us permission to use their land it's a really fragile situation. If the locations are released there will be some people, good intentioned or not, that will trespass to find out what's going on. Even if this doesn't get us kicked off the property it will undo any research we've already worked for in those locations.

It wasn't just that we had extra gear. It's that we had clothes that would fit an adult, unlike a certain somebody else.

Missouri Expedition Notes 6-9 November 2008

The Missouri Expedition was originated in the Ozarks. It was organized and planned by Ron B and Tom R. The expedition start date was November 6, 2008, but scouting and base camp preparation began days prior. A Base Camp was established along a stream on the South end of ?? Lake. Expeditioners began arriving on Wednesday the 5th and by the evening of the 6th, most had arrived and pitched their tents along either side of the blacktop road running through the Camp.

Activity began late in the afternoon on Thursday and continued through the early morning hours on Sunday. With about two-thirds of the expected arrivals already on site, a loud cracking sound, followed by a crash, was heard on the North end of the East ridge next to camp. All eyes turned toward the sound and some saw a large black figure moving in a SE direction. After further investigation, a tree had been broken over on the top of the ridge, but no further sightings occurred.

Thursday night was the start of our coordinated movement into areas of suspected activity. We were equipped with Thermal-imaging, night vision, enhanced audio recording instruments, two-way radios and experienced callers. The weather was crisp, about 45 degrees with very little or no wind, clear skies and a half moon. Two groups moved out around 8:30 p.m.. The first group went to what was referred to as Cemetery Ridge, so named due to an old cemetery located near a steep drop off. The group split up, one team locating near the cemetery, and the other team about one quarter of a mile up from them, on the road leading to the cemetery. The second group went to Ridge Road? (Not sure about the location or exactly what we called this area. Group one initiated an Owl Hoot, and Owl Hoot was returned from down in the nearby valley. (Note: some of the experienced members of the group indicated that the response Owl Hoot was too loud for an Owl to make)
Around 8:45p.m., Group one initiated wood knocking and rock clapping. Due to a lot of commotion on the part of some nearby campers, much of the efforts in this area had to be suspended. Group two was on foot and walked over to an area where a tree had been pushed over the road. One member of the group initiated some wood knocks, but no replies were heard. At approximately 7:45 p.m. the leader of the group let out a couple of whoops and within 30 seconds the group heard a large “Eeooowaaah!” At around 9:10 p.m. another member let out a long howl, and something on the North side of the road threw a large branch that landed quite close to the group. At around 10:00 p.m., a few more howls were initiated by Group two and off in the distance they could hear a cow or possibly a coyote.
After regrouping and huddling around the fire to share their experiences, most expeditioners had retired to their tents by around 12:30 a.m. At that time flute music and various native American chants were played over the loud speaker on the extreme southern part of camp. At around 1:00 a.m. a camper heard two howls off in the distance towards the south. Many campers put out bait before retiring for the evening. This included candy bars, apples, chips, onions and potatoes. None of this was taken. Several of us noticed sounds throughout the night. Someone heard what sounded like three separate entities in the camp at one time and heard very heavy footsteps on the blacktop road adjacent to his tent.
On Friday, the 7th of November, many of us spent the afternoon exploring the nearby wooded areas. Troy and Sherie were climbing the ridge on the southwest side of our camp and had made it about half way up when Troy spotted something. Tim S, Conner, and Steve T were already at the top of the ridge when they heard a call come in from Troy expressing excitement about an encounter. Troy had seen what looked like a reddish basketball shaped object move behind a tree, and then the profile of a face. Troy tried to look inconspicuous as he turned his head to get a better look. Sherie, then noticed a darker figure behind the other one, moving, but felt it necessary to look away after several seconds due to a sick feeling she began to have. About this time, the figure Troy had spotted, suddenly disappeared. It seemed to be slowly backing away, unnoticeably, until it was gone. Conner arrived in the area soon after and to get some perspective of the size of the entity, stood in the same spot as Sherie had witnessed earlier. She claims it was larger than him but had not to this point fully assimilated what she had saw.
On the East and West ridges close to Base camp, many stick structures were discovered. Many of these structures appeared to be naturally occurring but with more material added in an effort to make shelter or for other purposes.
On the evening of November 7th, the Groups moved out to preplanned areas once again. Movement to designated areas began around 8:45 p.m. Group one went to Workman’s Road and Group two met up at the Workman Camp site . Group one had activity early. Upon arrival at their start point for night observations, about 1.2 miles up Workman’s Road, they heard movement in the woodline just North of the road. Following the sound and where it stopped, there appeared to by eye-shine visible for several minutes and an onion odor in the air. Thermal-imaging did not register anything and the group moved back up the road in the direction they had drove in. One member of the group initiated a low moan that yielded two short howls and a flurry of coyote yips that lasted for about 15 seconds. In addition to those sounds, a “Cow sound” could be heard periodically for about 15 minutes. After the low moan Group two also heard the strange howls right before the coyotes howled. These were captured on a personal recording device and the quality of the recording was outstanding for the circumstances. Around 10:00 Group two initiated a long howl and about 15 minutes later heard 11 consecutive, powerful claps. Two others in the group saw red eye shine down the road, very near an old rock column . They moved closer and eventually heard the creature move west into the woods. It appeared to be looking around and over the column, in their direction, until they scared it off. The column was later estimated to be approximately 7 feet tall.
In the early morning hours of November 8th, visitors were once again heard in our basecamp. Two campers on the south end heard rustling in the woods very close to their tents and sticks were tossed on a tent for a short period of time. Many heard movement between their tents and the stream, like a person walking. Other sounds during the night by one witness included grunts, whoops and hollers.
The evening of the 8th did not produce many eventful observations. The expedition ended for most of us around 10 or 11:00 a.m. on the morning of November 9th. All involved agree that this area bears further investigation. Comparing it to other expeditions, many felt the Sasquatch here were standoffish and not used to contact. It is believed that our efforts may be the first of their kind in this area and due to the effective efforts of the scouting party, produced an unusually high number of encounters.

Quick question guys. Perhaps Troy can answer this one. I heard on recordings of purported bf whistles and clicks and grunts somewhere. Is that pretty accurate on that, because the day that we were ll on the ridge and the sighting took place Conner and I continued on south down the ridge andwhen I told ya'll that I had recorded something on the video camera that we hadn't heard ever before those whistles and grunt recordings are pretty darn close. Any thoughts? I plan on sending the video out to you guys to see what you guys think.
Outstanding reporting indeed. Very good job. Thanks Again Ron you all were great.

ok now if I can figure out how to upload the file to the internet. That way it can be constructively critized. It still sounds like a cat squirrel to me though lol. But according to Ron they are not in the ozarks. That is just too cool.

Funny thing, I watched a show on hippos the other night. The young make a mewling call that sounds very much like a kitten. So weird hearing that sound from something as large as a hippo, or even a Sasquatch?

2008 Missouri Expedition Notes ~~

Well this was a great trip! Yes, it was chilly....but still a lot of fun. I heard some howls Thursday night and Saturday night that reminded me of the ones we had in Oklahoma. We also had some unusual sounds in response to calls put out Thursday night by some of the investigators. I think just about every night someone heard footfalls around our camp. I must have been sleeping soundly, because I didn't hear much. Friday night in my tent I heard a pretty loud crash somewhere behind me and a few rustling sounds before I fell asleep, but that was it. My parents heard some interesting things though, they will write up something to post here soon. It seems like the Missouri Squatches were shy compared to the Oklahoma ones….they’re just a bunch of extroverts down there I guess!

Friday night was the best night for me. Six of us drove out to a dirt/gravel road and spread out in pairs along it. WR & RC went one way, RB & TH went the other way, and me & TS were in the middle. TS & I went to our position and leaned against a tree near the road and listened. It was a very clear, quiet, cold night. There was about a half moon and it was bright. We listened for a few minutes and then talked a little. We were facing in opposite directions, but I turned my head to look down the road toward WR & RC and saw a red flash on the left side. I said to TS something along the lines of, "Hey look at that....wonder why they have a light on down there?" He saw it too and then it was gone. We kept looking and didn't see it anymore, but had a short conversation about why they might have turned on a red light, since it was such a bright night it wouldn't have been needed. Right after that WR & RC called on the radio to say they had movement on both sides of the road. We were also starting to hear some movement, not very close, but definitely something. They came on again and said they had things moving on both sides, as well as some odd calls to one side. I asked RB if we could make our way towards them and he said we could. As we began to walk their way I again saw a red flash down at the stone pillars on the left hand side of the road, where we'd see it before. WR & RC were supposed to be at the pillars, so I thought one of them had their red light on again. I asked them over the radio why they had a light on....they said they didn't. I don't believe TS saw the red flash that time, but Tim if you're on the board feel free to jump in and correct me, I might have that wrong. We kept walking and ran right into them, they were much closer than I thought. The four of us stood there and talked for a minute. It turns out that as soon as they started heading to their spot they began to hear noises and so they stopped. We were probably 100 or so feet from the pillars at that point. I asked them one more time, did they EVER have a red light on. They said no. I looked down the road as we were talking and saw red again, but it had moved. Before it was on the left side of the road somewhere around the stone pillar, possibly behind it, but now it was 15-20 feet into the woods….and the impression I had was that it was now in front and to the side of the pillar among the trees. And I was actually looking at two red glowing eyeballs. I watched them for maybe 5 seconds before I whispered to the guys that I was seeing eyeshine. WR was trying to look with his night vision and the others were asking where it was....I tried to describe the spot but I don't think any of them were able to see it. I watched it for maybe 10-15 seconds total. I kept blinking....I couldn't really believe what I was seeing. Two red eyes; they would glow and then fade. Then come back in a slightly different position. I think he was moving a little...maybe looking around a tree or turning his head or blinking. I'm not good at judging distance, especially at night, all I know is that the eyes were large and I was close enough to clearly make out two distinct eyes....but not so close that I could see anything else. One thing I could tell was that the eyes were high up off the ground. This makes no sense, but the red flashes I saw when we were farther away seemed brighter than what I was seeing when I was closer. I had read about eyeshine/eyeglow before, but I didn't comprehend that the eyes do "glow". It was so cool. We weren't shining a light on them, however the moon was bright. I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. After the eyes were gone I told RB about it and asked if WR & I could go down there since he had night vision. He said we could and we walked down there slowly. As we got closer we heard something take off and we stopped to listen. He jogged back through the woods away from us....not a walk or a run just a slow steady jog. As we were listening to that, we heard a loud crash on the opposite side of the road. I think we both jumped. It sounded like a branch was thrown. After that everything was quiet. We went back to the same area the last night of the expedition with thermal units and didn't see anything, but we did hear a few distant howls.

I want to thank Tom for teaching me how to use the thermals and trusting me to traipse all over creation with one around my neck. I did get to see two living things on the thermal ~ a mouse and a flying squirrel I learned a lot on this trip and am really excited to try out the techniques in my own neck of the woods. And I feel so fortunate to have been able to see for myself something I'd only read about before.

While Rachel was seeing the red eyes,I and T.H. was 500 yrds. to the south, was listening to 11 whats sounded to be wood knocks or rock claps to the s.e of us. A very powerful "K-POW" one after another.
