Before he died, Wes Sumerlin told me he once saw a buck skin female poke it's body out of the brush and then retreat without turning around. I heard the same thing from a witness in Idaho in the early 90s.
I could be wrong, but I think it's part of their normal behavior. |

Nice photos Derek, those are a great find. I'm Tyler, I found the tracks in WA that were "faked" that are featured on the main Snow Tracks page. A discovery that was in turns exhilarating and, ultimately, disappointing, to say the least. But it was a learning experience, and another piece of the puzzle we are all trying to solve. Tyler Wm. Trax: Please note there are TWO sets of Washington tracks. This thread is monitored by Derek Randle who found these tracks.
The 'other' thread is of bogus tracks. You can find the information here:
http://www.bfro.net/news/SnowTracks/WA-X-tab.asp
The bogus tracks are marked on the Tracks Map with a BIG RED X.

No Trax, I found another set, the bogus ones, as Bossburg said. There are only a few posted on here, but I took over 200 photos, the trackway I found was nearly a mile long, with hundreds of individual prints. Of course, this was when I thought they were possibly the real deal, and before I realized they were fabricated. Tyler Wm. Bounds
