Do the producers of Finding Bigfoot hava any plans to film an episode in Missouri? There are quite a number of sightings here--some are listed in the BFRO database. IMHO, Missouri would be a great place to investigate.

The crew is off the road right now. I'll send this to Matt and see what they have scheduled so far. I saw a Tweet on the BFRO.net page from Matt saying they were going to Colorado in August.

I agree about an investigation here especially in southwest Missouri. Several sightings around Table Rock Lake, and the special on the Travel Channel-The Legends Of The Ozarks have them on the south end of Table Rock Lake near Ridgedale on private property looking for BF. I have heard wood knocking nearing sun set while fishing on Flat Creek by Cape Fair, which is part of Table Rock Lake. They have been in nearby Arkansas on expedition not too far away with the same terrain.

Also forgot to mention there is a thread on the movie Winter's Bone, which was filmed near Forsyth Missouri. Its located near Branson, by Table Rock Lake.

I too would love to see an investigation in SW Mo. My father is from here (Ava) and the old farm dates back before the Civil War. I so wish I had know about MO MO or as it is also know in these parts (The booger man) when my father and his five brothers were alive to talk about strange encounters they may have had. They all spent countless hours hunting as any food during the depression was welcome. I still send my lone Aunt BFRO reports from this area every year, and she gets a big kick out of them, and just a couple of months ago there was one from right outside of Ava.
I have a tremendous interest in learning as much as I can about Bigfoot. I live in Darke County, Ohio, however I go to the Huron National Forest in Michigan several times a year.

I wish I had known when I was a child that the booger man was a big hairy bipedal primate! My picture was quite different, and much scarier. "Watch out, the booger man'll get you" was a serious threat. I thought he was a potentially violent and unkempt old vagabond.

@gojohn..I hope I can find that documentary online somewhere! I'd love to see it! Do you have a link to the Winter's Bone thread? I would be interested in reading it.

@alphadog..I've heard of sightings near the Mark Twain National Forest, in Washington county. I, too, wish I would have asked my Mom, Aunts and Uncles before they all passed away. They all grew up in rural Mo in a log cabin way out in the woods.

@narrowfoot..I moved to Mo with my Mom as a child. And I never heard of Bigfoot until I was in junoir high--that's when I was told about MoMo. Prior to that we lived in Colorado, but I don't remember hearing any stories about Bigfoot there either.

I hope that FB would consider doing a MoMo episode! There seems to be plenty of activity around here.

The thread just talks about the night sounds at the beginning of the movie that has a familiar noise like a BF howl(Winter's Bone). I'd like to float Crane Creek outside of Crane, MO. as there are reports of activity, but these are night time and I am not familiar with floating there. Again, the creek goes into Table Rock Lake at some point and near Cape Fair. I can do some night time sound monitoring near Ridgedale out on Table Rock on the pontoon and it would be cool to hear a howl or Ozarks Howler scream. As you know from the Legends Of The Ozarks show on the Travel Channel, they are searching for the Ozarks Howler near Kimberling City(on Table Rock Lake). Just wish I could afford a good thermal camera and monitor the shoreline with the boat.

I didn't know there was a show on the Travel Channel. I wish I had satellite or cable! I'd love to see it. Maybe I can catch it online or on DVD.
I was at Table Rock lake several years ago camping. Had I known it was an active area, I would have explored more while I was there! It's my goal one day to own a good thermal camera too.
Thanks for the info.

Teria and Gojohn,

Funny I just found this thread. I just visited my twin brother this past weekend and hauled my boat down there for fishing. My twin brother lives in Crane, MO. We fished at Cape Fair which is prime for BF's. A lot of deer and turkey in that area. In fact, as we were driving back to Crane on Saturday 17 Nov. I asked him if he's seen a BF or know of anyone? He said no, and I sensed a bit of amazement from him that I'd asked. Most of my backpacking and hunting was done near Forsyth, MO. Or, just south of there near Kissee Mills.

Wow, a small world.

If you were driving back to Crane from Cape Fair, you passed over Flat Creek bridge. You can put in there by the bridge and if the water is not too low, you can fish far back in the creek there. Looking up at the hills right by the water, you can see caves with lots of cover and is very rural. Perfect for being a ghost in the woods. Read the reports around Crane on the BFRO Missouri counties website and ask your brother to go investigate there around dark.

I recently had some tests done in preparation for a surgery, and the technician doing the tests was talking about camping and fishing at Table Rock Lake. Of course, I had to mention the TV show and how I hoped an episode would be filmed in MO--maybe near the lake. I was amazed when he said he'd heard of sightings around there, and it would be a good place to film! Another technician came in just then, and I didn't get a chance to finish the conversation.
I think it's time for me to take a drive to the lake.

I think it's time for me to retire so I can do more investigating and backpacking! I know exactly where I'd go - several places.

Hard to know where to start, but Teria64- I sent you a PM on a possible place to check out before looking all around Table Rock Lake. Interesting side note, on Animal Planet-the show Call Of The Wildman(on a recent show)has Turtle Man getting rid of varments in some junk cars located in Kentucky that were getting removed from the woods in heavily wooded property. Neil was talking as normal about another friend with them called Squirrel, who has seen alot of things in the woods of Kentucky, including a Big Foot. Maybe if there are plans for a return visit to Kentucky, they could use an outdoorsman/hunter to return to where his encounter took place.

In regards to gojohn111. I have not seen that episode, I thought I had seen them all. The Turtle Man himself (Ernie Brown Jr.) had a Bigfoot incident as a youngster I believe around 9 or 10 years old when he thought one chased him back to his house. He has talked about it at least two times, although not on the show. His show is very popular and it would make for great entertainment to get the Finding Bigfoot Crew together with his crew. If anyone is reading this that is close to the producers pitch it to them.

Just sent a comment to the Discovery Channel on the idea. Maybe others can do the same and maybe it would be considered by the persons in charge. I think it would be interesting.

gojohn111;

Thank you for the information! I sent you a reply.
I haven't seen the Call of the Wildman show. I don't have satellite or cable--I wish I did. Maybe I can catch it on YouTube. I hope to go camping in KY one of these days. I'm sure there is a lot of activity just like MO! I hope all the MO fans of FB will tell the producers about a MO episode! They may be pleasantly surprised how much interest there is around here.

alphadog;

After seeing a recent interview of Scott Nelson and the Sierra Sounds on a local news station from Kansas City, MO., I really hope the producers of FB will do a Missouri episode, and include Mr. Nelson. He mentioned the BFRO in his follow up interview, and the extensive database of sighting reports.
I think it would be a great episode!

teria64- I think you are going to get your wish. Trying to find out what part of the state, but if they investigate S.W. Missouri near Kimberling City or Ridgedale near the Arkansas line, they might hear the Ozarks Howler also. That'd be pretty cool!

Alphadog, there is a Youtube interview with Turtleman about what he thinks was a bigfoot encounter. Parker Duvall Bigfoot Researcher Interviews Turtleman is the title. Maybe he can talk to Turtlemans friend Squirrel Brady about his encounter sometime giving location of his sighting.

Also on Neils' twitter site(Turtlemans friend) is saying Ernie wants to look for Bigfoot in West Virginia. It's be nice if he'd bring a camera with him or at least a cameraman.

Wow a BF expedition in or near Kimberling City is interesting. My ole stomping grounds at Aunts Creek.

Another great location is around the towns of Forsyth or Kissee Mills.
