Cyclocross race at Inverkiething this Sunday. I'm going to head along and I imagine roger, Pete and Owen will be there already. Is anyone else interested? You can race on a mountain bike. Will either cycle or get the train if no one can offer me a lift. MORE INFO Where's the banter?! |

Oh my, what a slogfest! My fourth CX race and the most unfun course ever. (compared to Glenmore which was fantastic) Probably 85% wet soft grassy field with the occasional ankle deep bog and off camber hills. People slip sliding all over the place and a lot of running (which I'm not very good at) Had a bad start when someone went down infront of me and from there just kinda settled into an steady endurance race kinda pace with a brief effort on the final two laps. oh well. Looking forward to next weekend though, Dundee, which is a good course so I hear and should offer a bit more variety and speed. "if you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space" |

Likewise - glad I didn't bother and went to Glentress. Found a fair bit of mud and off camber slippy grassy bits on the duathlon course mind you! This is not food |

Ended up not racing this due to laziness regarding tyre swapping. Did a 60miler instead, including riding from Exponential into back Glen. Is a sweet section on the road bike, especially hitting 25mph without being able to get to the brakes. Cyclocross is all about the mud and the slipping and sliding, means you have to break the mad skills out (and practice running with the bike).
Should be flat out for the whole hour, 'tis the only way. Red bikes were faster......till I bought a blue one....yeah.... |

Cleaning my bike is the worse bit - people build houses out of a mixture of mud and grass for a reason. Where's the banter?! |
