Dr.Forstchen's book One Second After has got on some kind of endless loop in my head.
The fate of the main character's youngest daughter kind of haunts me.

I dearly love my 'children'. (Grown now...), and I sure like the youngest daughter & son of the man with the small ranch down the road where I used to do day work for when he still could afford to run cows.
Gave em' both rides up the forest circus road in my motorcycle sidecar just yesterday :-)
(Thinking of anything bad happening to his or my children in particular makes something clamp-up inside my chest.)

Without meaning to I have been thinking about better ways than the cistern to maintain colder temps. of meds.

www.koolatron and other 12v mini-fridges could be used wiht a couple of deep cycle golfcart batteries and solar panels.
There are RV fridges out there that run on 12v/LPG/110v, as well as propane ref./freezers.

Also, www.mannkindcorporation.com makes a powdered insulin that has nothing I could find but GOOD reviews. (I am not sure how it stores, but probably better than the older forms of insulin.)
You inhale or 'snort' it, and it is supposed to be "fast acting".

Hope this info. can be taken by someone with a fully functioning brain and "run with".....

(Mebbe that last goodbye with Rabs and the skinny dog will leave me alone now.)
