Scene opens in a city alley with young African American men yelling as one throws the dice onto the cardboard. Almost as soon as it hits the cardboard people are yelling for one side or another. Every roll of the dice either costs you money or makes you money. The sport of professional wrestling wasn't much difference. In fact, Travis Thomas had rolled them many times before. Both in the alley ways of the inner city, running drugs throughout the city in his days before wrestling, and even in the XWF where the stakes were a lot higher in contrast to the rest of his life. Sure drugs were dangerous, but they'd get Thomas to where everyone expected him to go anyway - jail. Can't assume much of a risk when you're already looking to go there in the first place. Wrestling had serious consequences though. Broken ribs, a future of walking around with a cane. You needed to be careful in the ring.
As the camera pans away from the game and more into the background, Travis Thomas stands in the shadows with a hoodie on. The puddles in front of him indicate that the New York weather isn't cooperating with the general public. Nobody likes a shitty day and nobody knew that more then Thomas. After all, he was the same one that got fired from the first company he was in on his way to a title match outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was the one who got screwed in his promotion match with his new company, the XWF, in which James Raven and Luna Chick cost him the promotion everyone knew he deserved.
It's not time to cry over spilled milk though. That was over with and so was Veronica Rass' injuries as a result of Chris London and Reaper lighting her up in the hotel room of the Delano hotel in Miami's South Beach district. Thomas had been absent from the XWF for a few weeks. The time after his unsuccessful title match with Jason Chill seemed like forever. He was anxious to get back into the ring and prove that he should at least be the Hart Champion. After all, he had defeated everyone that was gunning for the title and he didn't think it'd take much to earn his way back up the contenders list for the Hart Championship.
As the camera zoomed into Travis Thomas he suddenly walked out of the scene and around the corner into the city sidewalks. As he walked he looked down at his cell phone and began to pick up the pace a little bit. As he walked through "don't walk" signs and people honked their car horns at him he seemed un-phased. He had somewhere to be and it didn't matter if people we're driving cars , reading the newspaper slowly while walking, or even walking their dogs.
As he approached the building that he was walking to he turned and knocked twice, then entering the un-marked black door just inside the alley way between the Deli and the Liquor store. As he walked in he easily navigated the many turns until he had gotten into the stairwell. From there he went up three flights and knocked on the door that was there.
This was the residence of Veronica Rass. The exterior of the building and the entrance to the building throws you off a little. Inside though, a hidden gem. Perfect for New York architecture. Beautiful on the inside, outside very traditional and historical looking. Rass had a nice stretch too. As Thomas walked in and through the kitchen to the open loft area he walked over to the sitting Veronica Rass. As Rass began to stand up to greet him she winced a little in pain.
"Sit down. No need to get up for a ***** like me Rass" Thomas said with a smile on his face.
"How are you Travis?" replied Rass.
"How am I? How are you? You seem to be in a little pain still" inquired Thomas.
"Yeah a little. I seen you took some time off from the XWF. I seen rumors online that you were thinking of heading over to TWC and seeing if you could run the show over there. I seen you got out of you contract with the XWF to explore other venture but.."
Thomas interupted Rass before she could go on anymore.
"You know, a lot of people think I'm un-loyal to the XWF for looking at other ventures. They think I'm thinking about Travis Thomas first, second, third and last. Well, they're right on all accounts Veronica. You see, I got out of my contract you're right on that account. I'm here because I need you to negotiate a new deal for me" said Thomas.
"With TWC?" Veronica asked.
"With the XWF" replied Travis in a very definitive tone.
"I thought you always wanted out of the XWF. In fact, I remember you telling me all the time how you wanted me to get you out of the.." Veronica was interupted by Travis.
"I'm doing this for you Rass. I'm doing this because you didn't get your fair end of our arrangement. You didn't get your money and for some reason you don't care about it. I can't put that together though since you always asked for everything from everyone else" Travis said putting her on the spot.
"I just don't want to go back and be involved in your business in the XWF. I've learned my lesson on that one" said Rass with a little smirk at the end.
Thomas was scheduled to fight Crimson Cage on Thursday and admittedly he hadn't gotten all of his business in order. For instance, he still had people looking at the contract he signed with TWC to make sure his release from the XWF was official. Some of the words Cage had spoken earlier in the week had rang true to Thomas.
After all, Cage was right about the demise of the XWF. As soon as Thomas got to the XWF he seen a company in shambles. The backstage area was a disasterous sight with some of the company's top performers sitting on milk crates. As Thomas tried to see himself in the XWF ring for an extended amount of he seen the company change ownership from Jonathyn Brown who had started the company from humble beginnings and found a new ownership trying to cling onto the control of the company and keeping everyone from not getting out of their contracts as well.
OCC: This is all I could get done. Hellish week for me. Apologies to opponent.. hope this atleast earns me a countout loss. I assume the deadline was midnight tonight? If someone could tell me when the deadline is or where to find it.. thanks
