Site: Conference Room at TWC Headquarters (Detroit, Michigan)

{Scene: For over seven and a half years, “The X Effect” Brian Cady has been in the midst of important moments in several different companies both in and out of the ring. From all of his community service to the ill and less fortunate, to the injuries he has inflicted on his enemies inside the squared circle, Cady has always been one to make headlines for both compassionate and violent reasons. But on this day, he looks to close the door on a certain chapter of his career that he would rather forget.

{For the first time in TWC history (even though it’s only been a few weeks), cameras are being allowed inside the office building that holds court to the TWC Headquarters in Detroit, Michigan. As we make our way towards the back of the building on the first floor, we finally turn inside a large conference room that looks more like the size of a banquet hall. Several sources have cited the attendance of reporters and media outlets represented in this room being around the 450 to 500 mark, which easily tops the number allowed to the now infamous Alex Rodriguez press conference just a month and a half ago at the start of Major League Baseball spring training.

{As the clock shows we are just past the 1 pm Eastern time, we see the side door swing open and TWC Co-Owner James Raven walks in dressed to the nines in a tailor-made suit. He is followed in by a small security detail of four men, as well as fellow TWC Co-Owner Mister Balls. James stands at the podium, with the security detail standing directly behind him, while Mister Balls flanks to James’ left side.}

James Raven: "Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. For a select number of you, I welcome you back. But for many of you, allow me to welcome you with open arms to the TWC Offices here in Detroit, Michigan. It has taken a great of deal of time to carefully plan the launch of this refreshed, superior brand of wrestling, but our D-Day has arrived. So to all of you in attendance, as well as tuning in on your televisions and computers at the TWC website, thank you very much for your support of TWC to date."

{A brief five-second applause from the crowd in attendance.}

James Raven: "I would also like to thank my business partner and co-owner of TWC Mister Balls for his never-ending wisdom and patience during this difficult process of getting the word out to people across the country about the creation of this company. This man has been tremendous with the use of his resources that I gave him to use, as well as using the contacts he has accrued over his many years in this business to let us get to this day. I am forever grateful for the sacrifices he has made in this process, and I thank him for everything."

{A nice round of applause, as Mister Balls takes a slight bow to the crowd and extends his thanks to James Raven.}

James Raven: "Okay well....I’m not a very big emotional guy, so enough of that shit!!"

{The crowd of reporters share a few laughs as James Raven takes off his suit jacket, loosens his tie and unbuttons the top of his dress shirt.}

James Raven: "Now that’s MUCH BETTER!! So on to the business at hand. I’m not one for big speeches either, so let me just simply say that the young man that is about to join us for this press conference has been a diamond in the rough that people have avoided tapping into for the last 3 years, and I decided to be the smart one that stepped up to the plate. So after some digging with my hard hat and shovel, it is now my privilege to call this kid a talent on the Titan Wrestling Corporation roster."

{A brief round of applause from the audience.}

James Raven: "This young man is not just a terrific wrestling talent, but a tremendous ambassador for the sport outside of the squared circle. From visiting the sick in hospitals, to honoring our troops overseas with special tours to Iraq and Afghanistan, he has seen it all and done it all for the good of this business. Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce to you a young man who effective after an event this coming Thursday will be EXCLUSIVE PROPERTY of the TWC!! Here he is, ‘The X Effect’ BRIAN... CADY!!"

{The whole crowd of reporters erupts into an ovation with shock draped upon their faces, as “Wherever I May Roam” plays through the speaker system in the conference. Then the door James Raven entered through opens up, and in walks the man of the hour. “The X Effect” shakes hands with a few of the front row reporters, before engaging the Big Two standing to the side of the podium. Cady shakes hands with Raven and Mister Balls before standing behind the microphone as the cheers quiet down.}

The X Effect: "Thank you all very much for the warm reception. Well at least the climate: I’ve gone from the heat of Hell’s Kitchen to the warmth of the bright lights that will follow me in the TWC!!!."

{A short moment of laughter from the reporters.}

The X Effect: "First off, I’d like to thank my family and friends, who were very instrumental in helping me make this crucial decision in my career. Ever since the start of 2009, I have been at a crossroads in my career between my ankle injury and the fact that I was being held back in the XWF. I saw my desire for being with the company slowly declining, while my frustrations from constant defeat ever growing. But a few days ago, a good buddy of mine decided to make a surprise visit to my hotel room and well... the rest is now history."

{A round of applause as Raven stands for a second to be recognized.}

The X Effect: "That crazy son of a bitch grew a set and convinced me that TWC was the right way to go in my career. This is one of the best days of my life and one of the best decisions I have made in my entire career, and I couldn’t be more proud to say that I am officially a part of the Titan Wrestling Corporation."

{A loud ovation from all of the reporters, as “The X Effect” reaches under the podium and grabs a TWC baseball cap to put on his head.}

The X Effect: "Okay ladies and gentlemen... I am open to your questions."

Random Reporter: "What was more convincing in your decision: the fact that Raven personally hunted you down in a hotel room to meet with you, or the fact that James Raven and Superballs are running things?"

The X Effect: "Damn, that’s a really good first question. I’ve gotta say it’s a perfect combination of both. When I saw Mister Raven walk into my hotel room a few nights ago, I was COMPLETELY SHOCKED!! Just seeing his face blew me away, and then finding out WHY he was there was crazy.

“What very few of you probably know is that the next morning, which was yesterday, him and I met at the terminal for our flight to Detroit and we discussed more fine-tune details about TWC. So honestly, to begin with, I had NO IDEA who owned this damn company until I was halfway to Detroit!! So as if I wasn’t convinced already, I was pumped to hear that James and Mister Balls were running this show because I’ve wanted to work with James for the longest time, and I have heard nothing but good things about Mister Balls."

Random Reporter: "What told you two nights ago that it was finally time to move on?"

The X Effect: "There will be a handful of people that I will definitely miss, namely guys like Big Shank and the Ryan Brothers. But over the course of events that have transpired over 2009, there wasn’t too much second-guessing with the leaving part of things."

Random Reporter: "As we look up and down the TWC roster, there a few names that pop out from the XWF that you are familiar with. Are there any names that pop out in your mind?"

The X Effect: "Well obviously, Jeremy Adonis pops out. He was an impressive young talent from late last year that got caught up with a bad crew of guys, but he was a pretty good talent back then and I expect big things from him. Aside from that, I am familiar with Dan Fierce, who was a part of The Road Crew with me. I have heard rumors of somebody else I know from the XWF showing up eventually, but I honestly don’t know where his negotiations stand right now."

Random Reporter: "Is it weird for you to walk into uncharted territory of a company on the rebound, contrary to the already established companies you are used to being a part of?"

The X Effect: "Well it is definitely uncharted territory, because the only other company I helped rebound was the DOWN, and I was only there as a contributing writer for its first two months of existence before my good friend Bobbinette Carey took the brand national. Being part of a brand new company or a company on the rebound as a wrestler is TOTALLY different than being a part of it as a staff member. As a part of the staff, you have limited resources in the beginning and you’re working more hours than any normal person should. When you are a talent, you just show up when you’re told and help publicize the company every free chance you get, with stress on the word FREE.

“I look up and down this roster, combine it with everything I have heard from my two bosses, and I have a tremendous amount of faith in this company getting off the ground with a strong restart and making things interesting in the business for a long time to come. So while this is a new experience for me in helping rebuild a company as a talent instead of a staff member, I wouldn’t consider it weird or awkward at all because I have the same goals and expectations as usual."

Random Reporter: "You just mentioned how you ‘have the same goals and expectations as usual.’ What exactly are those goals that you speak of?"

The X Effect: "Well for one thing, I pray to God that I have a clean bill of health the rest of the year. I know damn well I’m gonna get fucked up in a few matches, but it comes with the territory and I’m willing to make the necessary sacrifices to help this company survive and thrive in its rebuilding process. Also, I have looked at the way the championships have been set up, and I am very much interested in the International Championship. The obvious issue with the International Title is that Mia Sanchez has a pretty good stranglehold on that division, and I don’t wanna rustle any of my boss’ feathers quite yet."

{Raven shakes his head in agreement before bursting out into laughter with the audience.}

Random Reporter: "Now with what you just explained to us, can we officially consider you the first person to throw your hat into the ring of potential competitors for the International Title in such a public manner?"

The X Effect: "Yes you can, and you can take that to the bank. In fact, I will even take it a step further. By the time we reach Labor Day in September, I will earn a shot at the International Title, REGARDLESS of who is holding the belt. With the background that I have with regards to honoring your country, and respecting that flag which symbolizes the thousands of young men and women fighting every single day to defend our freedoms… it will ALWAYS attract me towards ANY championship that involves representing the United States of America in such a respectable championship division like the International Title."

Random Reporter: "What kind of effects do you think the slumping economy will have on the Titan Wrestling Corporation?"

The X Effect: "Well I personally believe that is a question more suited for James or Superballs, but I will answer it to the best of my abilities. To answer your question, I am going to refer to one of my favorite movies of all time… Field of Dreams. If you build it, they WILL come. You can believe that.”

Random Reporter: “Have you considered trying to convince ‘Devastator’ Mike Muscato to come out of retirement and get back inside the squared circle for one last go-around as the Elite Impact Players?”

The X Effect: “That is an excellent question, and my answer is yes. I have most certainly considered asking him to come out of retirement, but I know that if and when he feels ready to try a comeback, he will come to me personally and TELL ME that he is ready. So until that day comes, I will respect his career decision and let him enjoy retirement.”

Random Reporter: “There is a rumor going around that one of your co-workers named Hawkeye is being trained by a good friend of yours. Do you have any thoughts on the matter?”

The X Effect: “Well for one thing, I can tell you right that if my friend is training him then he must be a worthwhile talent, because he would not just waste his time training a second-rate wrestler. This Hawkeye must have the goods, and if we ever cross paths here in TWC, it is going to bring the house down and steal the show from ANY Main Event scheduled the same night. I wish them all the luck in the world with their partnership.”

Random Reporter: “What are the chances of seeing you try to create yet another thrilling chapter in the history of what is EIP, the Elite Impact Players?”

The X Effect: “I’m VERY happy that you bring that up, and for that, you get the gold star for the day!! Unfortunately, I can’t really disclose a whole hell of a lot of information at this time since I haven’t looked at the roster too closely, nor have I seen ANY of these guys wrestle before except Jeremy Adonis and Dan Fierce. But mark my words man, you can bet that I will try my hardest to make some EIP magic happen one… last… time. Thank you very much guys, you were ALL wonderful!! See you Thursday.”

{“The X Effect” shakes hands with Victor Stone and Nick Ryan as the camera zooms out to a standing ovation from the reporters.}

<><><><><><><>FAST FORWARD FOUR WEEKS<><><><><><><>

Date: Monday May 25, 2009

Time: 2:17 pm EST

Site: Conference Room inside Oklahoma Memorial Stadium (Norman, Oklahoma)

{Scene: It has been nearly four days since we last heard from “The X Effect,” which has allowed him to make a trip to the home of the Oklahoma Sooners’ football team in Norman. Cady gets a tour of the stadium from 2008-2009 Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford, meets some of the current football players and coaching staff while passing through a Spring Practice on the field and gets a look at the spacious rotunda. As we look inside a conference room inside the stadium, there are roughly 200 members of the press crammed inside from wall-to-wall, awaiting the arrival of “The X Effect.” Just as we look inside, a door opens and Cady walks into the conference room, all decked out in a black pinstripe suit with a white dress shirt and red tie. He stands in the middle of the left hand side of the room, bringing in with him a bottle of water.}

The X Effect: “Good afternoon everyone, and thank you all for coming out as we stand on arguably one of the most hollowed grounds in the history of Division 1 college football, the home of the Oklahoma Sooners. There have been countless historical moments in college football history that have taken place inside this stadium, and this coming Sunday, the TWC will cross the Rio Grande to Mexico, which will host a historical moment in professional wrestling history.

“Not too far from here in Tijuana, the Titan Wrestling Corporation will televise its first pay-per-view since my debut entitled Border Clash, and in a rare occurance EVERY TITLE will be on the line!! It is going to be hell on Earth to say the least, as the entire wrestling world will witness a Barbed Wire Noose Match, an Extreme Rules match AND a 15-minute Iron-Woman Match ALL IN THE SAME NIGHT!! And to top it all off, Andrew Clash will FINALLY get his hands on John Rogan one-on-one for the TWC World Heavyweight Championship!!”

{A nice round of applause from the crowd of reporters.}

The X Effect: “Now as we approach this historic night in wrestling history, I wanted to take a few minutes this afternoon to reflect upon the nature of my match. This is going to be EXTREME Rules. The word extreme has several different meanings: adventurous, brash, audacious, carefree, hasty, inconsiderate, and negligent are just some of its synonyms. But there are two I’d like to focus on in particular: daring and desperate.

“As I have looked up and down the TWC roster over the last several days, and watched tapes of previous matches by guys like Travis Thomas, I have not really seen an element of daring from anyone. I mean yeah, some guys have taken some pretty bad bumps off of ladders and through tables, but nobody has been daring in a way that is CREATIVE, but most of all... ENTERTAINING!! For example, what I was looking was something like when I hit The X Effect on Duke Andrews off a ladder in the ring and thru a table OUTSIDE THE RING at another company’s pay-per-view a few months ago. THAT’S not only daring and creative, but it’s ENTERTAINING!! All of today’s wrestling fans are bored of the same old rest-hold and hip toss and abdominal stretches, they want something innovative that will keep their attention and on the edge of their seats.

“And then, there is the one word that perfectly describes how I feel going into this match tomorrow night: desperate. It was the word I used to describe how I felt going into my last pay-per-view match in April, and I’ll say it again with regards to my match this Sunday. This is my moment to step out from the long-casting shadows of my friends around the business and finally stand on my own, and do it in a company I am helping rebuild and become one of the best this business has to offer. It has been a long time since I have been in contention for any kind of championship gold, and this Sunday night allows me to get my own sense of redemption for being a disappointing no-show for my fans in big matches recently.

{A round of applause from the reporters for about ten seconds.}

The X Effect: “In this Extreme Rules match, I am going to be taking on a promising new addition to the TWC roster named Travis Thomas, a young man who is affiliating himself with a man named Chronic Chris Page. Now having come from the XWF recently, I am VERY aware of what Page brings to the table, and if this Thomas is anything like him… then I am in for one hell of a match this Sunday. However, after looking at the comments this boy made a few days ago, I feel compelled to clarify some issues.

“First of all, Travis was quoted as saying, ‘Cady is looking at this Pay-Per-View match with me as a breeze and that is where it's going to trip him up.’ This kid obviously hadn’t done a whole lot of homework on me before making that statement, because REGARDLESS of whether my opponent is a rookie right out of wrestling school or a 15-year veteran of the business, I DO NOT… under-estimate ANYONE!!! And especially since you are hanging around a guy like Chris Page, I’m sure he has shown you a few tricks to have up your sleeve.

“The next statement that I want to bring to light is the fact that Travis said, ‘My skill is a gift from god Cady. It's something I don't think you've ever witnessed first hand before.’ Travis, I want you to ask your buddy about Kore, John Gambino, Centurion, Big Shank, Cyren, James Raven, Trent Gein and ****e One. Listen kid, I have fought with the best and I have earned respect from EVERY SINGLE ONE… of those greats that I just named off. Some of them I almost beat, and others gave me beatings I will never forget… but against every one of them, I kept coming back for more and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT!!! Travis, you aren’t just dealing with some worthless wrestler: you are going to be in an Extreme Rules match against a seasoned veteran that is CRAZY as a mother fucker!!”

{Cady grabs a few sips from his water, and then continues on.}

The X Effect: “The next quote from Travis that I’d like to dissect is the following: ‘I got Brian Cady shutting the fuck up right now and Andrew Clash running his mouth for Cady. That's depressing.’ My point Travis is that I didn’t ask Andrew Clash to say or do ANYTHING for me, and I sure as hell don’t need help from anyone to beat an ass-clown southpaw who seems to neglect the thought that maybe, JUST MAYBE… he is NOT the only lefty in the TWC. That’s right you dumb piece of shit, I am ALSO A LEFTY!! So your whole street-fighting bullshit goes out the window right there.

“And besides, in his heart of hearts, do you REALLY think Clash is worried about a punk-ass bitch like YOU?? I mean Page I would understand because he has World Title credentials, but YOU?! Why would Andrew Clash, the current World Heavyweight Champion, bother saying ANYTHING about a snot-nosed punk like you unless you were instigating shit with him in the first place?? The only way Andrew Clash and any of the veterans in the TWC are going to come up to you after our match Sunday night is either when they are wheeling you on a stretcher to the ambulance, or worse… in a BODY BAG!!! Yeah, I lost all those twenty-one championships eventually, but I have faced some of the best this business has to offer and I’M… STILL… HERE!!!

“The only thing I can honestly give you credit for is that Brownsville is a rough neighborhood to live in as an adult, let alone as a kid. Those are some rough streets, and I have seen them in their worst while doing my service to give back to the community, but don’t tell me that because you were born and raised in a tougher section of New York than I was, it automatically makes you MORE of a New Yorker than I AM!! Why don’t you try approaching Mayor Bloomberg and getting a dinner with him WITHOUT the help of Chris Page. He would LAUGH IN YOUR FACE!! But me on the other hand… an Open Door Policy, ‘true New Yorker.’ I don’t care what streets you are coming from, but you got BIG BALLS… to say something as ridiculous as that.”

{Cady pulls the microphone off its stand and walks down in front of the podium to get closer to the people and the camera.}

The X Effect: “But Travis, despite all the stupid shit you said that I have brought to light, nothing beats the stinker you let out towards the end of your statement. What floors me is the fact that as a man of the streets as you call yourself, you have the audacity to disrespect the Funk Conservatory. As a man from the streets, I would have expected you to show some class and respect towards the Funk Family name, but as suspected… I gave you too much credit. In the wrestling hierarchy of long-standing families in the business, there’s the Von Erichs, the McMahons, the Maivias, and right next to them… the Funks.

“The Funk Family, especially the youngest brother Terry, epitomized what Extreme Wrestling is all about. Why not have you and your fuck-buddy Page look up guys like Foley, Sabu, the Dudleys, Douglas, Dreamer… ASK THEM what Terry Funk meant to the business and Extreme Wrestling. For all intensive purposes, Terry Funk and Mick Foley were the INVENTORS... of EXTREME... WRESTLING!!! Being able to call Terry and Dory Funk my mentors and teachers is an honor and a privilege. And trust me Travis, there is NOTHING you can do that will surprise me. You want shit to hit the fan?? Well Travis, consider it done. This coming Sunday at Border Clash in Tijuana, I am gonna make you my puppy-dog bitch, and you WILL FEEL... THE X... EFFECT!!”

{Cady gets a nice round of applause from the reporters as the camera pans out.}
