Topie: [Merged] Patterson Film

opal I was reviewing the Patterson film and inparticular the jutting-out area that was hypothesized as perhaps an ulcerated wound and that one may expect an altered gait with this sort of affliction. However, what I noticed was the solid line above the jutted area where all hair moves in a line that looks to encompass the thigh. I wondered if perhaps this jutted area is not a wound, but some sort of small tool that is bound to the thigh by a vine or twine - thus explaining the uniform movement of hair in both areas.

D. Freel Opal-
I have studied the Patterson footage and have never saw the shape...
Different eyes see different things. Some people claim to see a baby on her back as well...
I guess I could call Bob Gimlin and ask if he patted her down:)

opal Yes, the area was observed after they stabilized the Patterson footage. If you don't own a copy of the DVD - Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science, you probably would not have observed it. I believe it's Chapter 15 on the tape. It's a great tape and worth owning - I purchased it from this site.

D. Freel I am quite familiar with it the DVD, I just re-watched the clip...
I am also checking out the stills I have of the Patterson footage I don't see anything that would indicate a tool... but like I said different eyes...
I know several of the people who produced the Legend Meets Science documentary. Most of them are working on other projects that include the Patterson footage. I will get their opinions of it, I just am not seeing anything other than a "bump".

UtahBigFootBeliever As far as i can tell that this film really shows a real bigfoot. All of my friends who see say its fake, then they watch the shows with me with people trying to disprove it and they can not do it. So that shuts my friends up. I also have not see the Mythbusters episode where they tried, anyone else seen that episode?

November 3rd, 2006 11:30 PM
Matt Utah, to my knowledge Mythbusters has never done a bigfoot episode and I think I've seen all the episodes. Awhile back there was a article on the BFRO site addressing the Mythbusters promotional commercials featuring a sasquatch with a Canadian accent. I tried to find it but I couldn't. At any rate if I'm not mistaken the article mentioned that the producers of the Mythbusters show have refused to try and put the "myth of bigfoot" to the test.

trailrider The redwoods film enhanced also definately shows something sickle shaped, possibly strapped to the front of the thigh of that sasquatch also. And its not a penis ...

To me, in Patterson stabilized, it appears like a piece of twine is running around the upper thigh under the hair, creating that line.

A sickle shaped sharpened deer antler sure would be handy for evicerations, or stripping bark from trees to make woven bark/moss blankets. It would also conform to the thigh better if it was curved perhaps.

I'll try and get some decent footage this weekend .... we can analyze it on monday.

captainkillmore I think they have a episode in the making of these type myths but they generally stay away from , and I quote Adam, " Oogey Boogey myths" . I think this falls under that , similiar to ghost research. Would make for a good halloween episode tho. I would like to see Kary Byron running around in the woods trying to lure in a BF.

shadobuck Opal, 'Rider and all,

Very interested to know what you think of this possible "tool". My family & I "received" a very unusual "gift" left leaning on the step of our camper in northern Arizona while camping about 8 years ago. It was constructed of a small flimsy aluminum rectangular pan-the kind that is like aluminum foil--a stick about 1.5 inches thick, broken on both ends, about 8 inches long, and coarsly rolled "rope" that looked like a grass twine, rolled with moss and some small wildflowers, seemingly randomly interspersed. The stick had what appeared to be a natural crack in one end, possibly from when it was broken. The aluminum pan was wedged into it. The mossy "twine" was wrapped around the handle and where the join was, and then continued in a loose looping fashion through holes that had been raggedly punched--either by the artist or the people who originally cooked with it--sort of randomly around the perimeter. The whole construction seemed to be mimicking either a cooking pan or a campfire shovel.

The place we were camped had only one other camper-two people in a tent about 50-100 yrds fom us. Yes, it could have been their idea of camp arts and crafts ;-) and a cute joke. However, we were up late with a fire, and they went to bed early. We discoverd the artifact at about 6 the next morning...the other campers had yes, it is possible they left it for us. There is a little more to this story, but this is long-winded enuf...would be very interested to know if anyone else has seen or heard of any such thing, and what you think of the enhanced Patterson footage.

Bossburg .....did you save your gift?

November 4th, 2006 09:06 PM
shadobuck No, stupidly we left it there. Of course, the camera was also out of film!!!! Wish I'd known then what I know now...(sigh)

captainkillmore Quick question ,,,, did you have a dog or small animal with you??? One that might need a pooper scooper??? Maybe they found a rather smelly gift from this animal and had to make a pooper scooper to remove it and then offered to you when they left. ;)
November 8th, 2006 02:35 AM
shadobuck No smelly doggies...unless you count the kids' sneakers left outside the camper... :p

CKnaub Shadowbuck, that is amazing. Tell us the rest of the story. In view of the thread on BF gift giving this is very interesting. Where in N. AZ did this happen?
November 26th, 2006 08:35 PM
shadobuck CKnaub sorry for the delay in responding. This happened on Mt. Graham, about 10 years ago. The weird part was, the year before we had camped at the same site and had an old rag rug we used to wipe our feet on before entering the camper. It kind of fell apart, and we strung the strands between two trees and wove a kind of nature weaving out of it, and the kids wove any "treasures" they would find into it, like MOSS and FLOWERS! We took it with us when we left. It kind of freaked us out that the next year at the same spot this very peculiar "gift"-woven with moss and flowers-should show up at our door. Probably coincidence, but...

Couple other notes from Mt. Graham: one night my husband and I were awakend by very loud thudding "footsteps"-really scuffling and kicking up dirt and stones- running by our upper bed in the camper, accompanied by a really loud gutteral growling...years later I realized it closely resembled the Sierra Sounds "language" sounds. BF wasn't really in our consciousness at that time, so we just assumed it was bears, or raccoons or skunks flighting, and went back to sleep. Looking back on it, it really did not sound too much like those animals. LOL

One other funny thing on Mt Graham: one night I woke up iaround 3 am feeling kind of ill and made my husband accompany me (chicken! buh-buh-buuhk!) to a privy nearby provided by the park service as I thought I would upchuck. It was pitch black and not a sound. We went inside and were in there a few minutes, when we heard what sounded like a verrry soft, stealthy footstep outside. We looked at each other and held our breath trying to hear. Nothing. Then another "footstep". Then we could hear a deep breathing sound, not very loud. Good thing we were in an outhouse cause I wasn't wearing Depends. We must've stayed in there a half hour. Whatever or whoever was out there was incredibly quiet, much quieter than a bear would be. After all was silent for about 15 minutes straight we made a run for it. We were spooked but laughing-go figure. It was completely black except for stars and hardly anyone else on the mountain.

I am honestly not sure if this info is relevant or even related to BF. But a few years ago we heard some folks had heard BF type vocalizations near where we had camped. Myself... I am mainly interested in knowing if these incredible beings were the ones who wove our present, which is why I am hoping someone else will have a similar experience to share.

Jeff Littlefoot Has, anyone heard the latest on the p/g film? Apparently someone (M.K. Davis) has "proven" that it is indeed a human in a costume. Can anyone enlighten me further on this topic? Thanks, Jeff.
December 2nd, 2006 07:45 PM
D. Freel This is the first I am hearing about it...
December 2nd, 2006 08:04 PM
Jeff Littlefoot I know that M.K. Dvis had done work to stabilize the pg film (I 've watched the enhanced film myself.) And I personally think the stabilized film only persuades me more that something is out there. I found this info as a free press release so I am not sure how credible it is (the report), however, it is a fairly new release and I was hoping someone had more info. Jeff. There is a link at bigfoot encounters.

Jake Levi I'm not sure who , either Loren Coleman or Jeff Meldrum wrote the 'twine' or throng is a result of the blowing up of the photo which feeds in 'static' and that its not in the regular frames of the original.

captainkillmore He didnt state a human in a costume but a human and not a primate. He now believes Patty is a hominid , human. species but he is not sure what type yet. That is what I get from discussion over at another crypto site I like to read. But so far all I hear is he says it is definately not a primate .

JonAllan here is an interesting youtube video re: MK Davis enhanced version of the PGF, It includes zoomed and slowed versions of the famous footage.

Jeff Littlefoot thank you for the info capn. That the report may have some ambiguity did cross my mind because of the homin vs pongid debate, however, the release is so short it gives no really detailed info. I was immediately disappointed thinking of the pg film as a fake. The clarification by capn has set my mind at ease. What a bum deal if it had turned out to be fake.
