a.allen63 here is a link to an interesting article by the BBC showing a few gamekeepers film about the gorillas in the Congo, including an explanation of what they think their grunts mean. maybe it can start some discussion regarding how bf would interact with their family members. these gorrillas seem to do a lot of sitting around and munching on leaves!

Well, I just heard in the news this morning that Hugo Chavez sits around all day chewing coca leaves. Not to insult gorillas, but I always thought he was about as smart as a gorilla!

a.allen63 Woohoo... top of the pile again! thought i'd add a comment here myself (as no one else has other than jimws) before this post sinks below Ammi! did anybody watch the link to the gorrilla films? if we can observe and communicate with chimps and gorillas, maybe one day we will with bf? but i dont think he'll be driving the bus to school for a while!

mwebbles If Koko the gorilla could be taught Amslan, I don't think communicating with captive/docile squatches will be much of a problem. After years of mystery and speculation won't it be interesting to finally hear, in plain, unequivocal terms, exactly what BF thinks of us: "you're annoying, thoughtless, occasionally dangerous, sometimes interesting and, worst of all, you smell awful. . . another banana please?"
