Steph JHT Once again, nothing conclusive, but IMHO very interesting just the same. I've stopped expecting to see a significant find on this show. Probably would have already heard about it on this site before the show aired anyway. The camera that takes 360 degree pictures is very cool. Not sure I understood about the reagent they were spraying and it's specific use. I thought that it might have a scent that bf or any animal could smell which may be detrimental to what they're trying to accomplish. What did you all think?
February 19th, 2009 12:52 AM
Roboron Boy, did some of that area look familiar. Not bad, We could of gotten better reaction if we were out here. I know sounds cocky but we were in that area and we did get better results.
February 19th, 2009 07:50 AM
Hound Steph, If you're talking about them spraying the coverings on the kayaks, that was a scent killer. Notice the bf touch the bow hunter in the stand? Couldn't smell him so was trying to get him to move, I think, to give himself away. Got a surprise when he grabbed the broadhead though.
February 19th, 2009 10:20 AM
Trax she was talking about the spray they checked later on with the laser lights, if BF touched the tree or bush with that reagent on it it would had been revealed with the ultraviolet light. as far as the bowhunter goes, did we get a report on that at some point? I thought i remember reading it or one like it before. the guy who really convinced me he saw something was the turkey hunter. he definitely looked like he was upset about what he saw that day.

vaderboyx This show got me thinking about ways researchers use to attract bigfoot. I thought that instead of broadcasting recordings of their calls into the woods that maybe they should use bacon to attract the creatures. I know they're a curious bunch so I thought this might work.
February 19th, 2009 11:06 AM
Wheellug I really liked the 360 camera..
The bit about the bow hunter.. I've read that before as well.
he was sitting in the tree afraid to move when he realized BF was there.
Then the BF was feeling around and grabed the broad head cutting himself.
Would have been an opportune moment for a blood sample-if only.
February 19th, 2009 11:16 AM
mikeva Actually liked the show even though they didn't find much. It seems they have toned down the overhype from last season.
February 19th, 2009 04:45 PM
JPaul Okerlund I agree with mikeva. This was a much better show than some of last year's.

Could you imagine being that bowhunter? At least the turkey hunter was on the ground, and it didn't appear the BF knew exactly where he was. The bowhunter is lucky it grabbed his broadhead and not him.

I found it very interesting how differently the two men reacted afterwards. The bowhunter became so interested in the subject that he joined the Texas BF research org. and goes out on expeditions. The turkey hunter doesn't ever want to see one again.

I imagine the bowhunter was more concerned about the mess in his shorts than dna on the arrow :D

Wow I missed that part, forgot it was on until the last 15 minutes.

Sounded like a good show! Did the BF see the hunter in the tree?
February 19th, 2009 05:13 PM
JPaul Okerlund The bowhunter had put his climbing stand in the day before. When he came back the next day, it had been rearranged, so he put it back right and was sitting in it. The BF came from behind, walked underneath him, and reached up. The only thing not camoflaged was the arrowhead, and it grabbed that. It then ran off and screamed.

ravellette Wow I missed a good one........thanks for the info.

Lauren G. Finally, something decent.

No overblown theatrics, hysteria or excessive stereotypes.

The 1/18/09 Swamp Stalker, Monster Quest episode was credible.

Even the generated images of the sasquatches were okay.

It actually gave sasquatch investigation due respect with down to earth depictions, applicable search methods, plausible witnesses and a glimpse of a really interesting 360 degree camera.

Although not progressive, the information it offered was solid.

Randy, thanks for the heads up on this!

wasscallywabbit ravellette it'll be shown again , MonsterQuest : Swamp Stalker , Airs on Saturday February 21 04:00 PM

Lauren and Indianna Janna , your welcome.

I'm always looking for shows and articles about the subject.

I liked the episode ,, I agree they did alot better job with this one then pervous ones.

that hunter in the deer stand had nerves of steel , I guess it kinda shows if your well camo'd and descented , they can't distinguish you .

I thought about getting a Ghilie Suit and trying that , in an area they're reported to be in . I don't know if I'd have the nerve though if one decided to stop right beside me , my luck it'd stomp me and I'd end up a big gooo between it's toes .

I Also liked the bigfootville show . The one they did in Oklahoma , when they went in with the 2 officers that had a Class A sighting and then went back in with the news crew.

I too liked this episode very much as it was well done. If only that bowhunter would have had a digital camera he would be a celebrity right now!

Another thing I found interesting was Dr. Meldrum pretty much stating that he thought the photograph of the old cast of the Fouke Monster when analyzed might just be a fake! He was very skeptical of the three toe anomoly.

I think though that if these creatures are so limited in numbers that frequent inbreeding occurs why couldn't a three toe mutant have resulted? Meldrum even talked about examples of claw footed humans in tribes where inbreeding took place!
February 20th, 2009 10:23 PM
ravellette Are the claws just toe nails overgrown? I don't know how they woud cut their toe nails in the jungle.
February 20th, 2009 10:36 PM
JPaul Okerlund That three toed track picture also looked very narrow in comparison to to the pictures of other BF print casts.
February 21st, 2009 01:09 AM
wmjacobsjr I saw the Monsterquest show and thought it was very good. The Bigfootville show that was mentioned was good also except for the part where the police officer started shooting into the forest. There could have been a riqochet off a rock and someone could have been hurt. As for the three-toed inbreeding issue, there is an example of how inbreeding can cause abnormalities in Key West. The Hemingway House has cats that roam the property and they have six-toes. They have done tests proving inbreeding is the cause.

dunarabianmare A lot of Amish communities exhibit polydactyly. Some breeds of pigs have three toes per each foor rather than the usual 2. Some breeds of chickens have 5 toes, some have 4. There is variation within everything.

Another possibility, the 3 toes tracks tend to be in the South Central--AR, TX, OK, LA--could it possibly be some kind of large bird or possibly a relic dinosaur? Far-fetched, but both of those have the traditional 3-toed tracks
February 21st, 2009 11:16 AM
Trax another theory on the tri toe would be it lost them in some accident in the woods. imagine going around climbing over rocks and sticks barefoot all the time. the only thing that would be odd is if both feet lost the same toes.

It would have to be a very large bird. even an ostrich print isnt as wide or as long as the print seen on MQ...but who knows ;)
February 23rd, 2009 09:56 PM
JPaul Okerlund Or even a weathered, combination track. One animal track overlapping another.

Plus, we're looking at a video, of a photo, of a 30 year old cast. Pretty tough to get any details.
