Like the bit about putting the tight forwards back together from a few years ago. Just Nigel and Joe to sign then and a certain Mr Morley!
April 20th, 2011 05:08 AM
greenandwhitetiger Good to see Nic getting nice words about him on the Sale forum. Obviously Steve Diamond doesnt see him in the same light as Mike Brewer did. Fantastic to get a player back who has had some meaningful game time at prem level (unlike 1 or 2 I can think of), and is clearly wanting to play for the team. Hopefully that will rub off on other players.
April 20th, 2011 05:38 AM
beak Reckon we might have to wait on any news on Duffey as Tigers have said they aren't announcing comings and goings till their season ends
April 20th, 2011 06:25 AM
M2OGGTYFC Yep, that would seem to be the case, the club are saying nowt yet. Fear ye not though, the news should be positive..
April 20th, 2011 06:49 AM
bleedsgreenanwhite So as it stands we have the following confirmed:

All on 2 yr deals except Sione and Craig I think.
Not sure who else is in the middle of contracts and who is at the end of theirs......
April 20th, 2011 07:23 AM
annie Craig hasn't signed for next year yet? He signed a two year deal starting 09/10 - Sherriff, Usasz and Cobbo also did so and have yet to sign (or the club is yet to announce) new deals.

Eggleshaw signed a three year deal at the beginning of last season so we can add him to that list.

But I think we can safely assume Cobbo will be staying as they've used him in the promotional literature for STs ;)
April 20th, 2011 07:49 AM
bleedsgreenanwhite Thanks Annie.
So the updated list follows:

1. PARR (2yr)
3. HALSALL (2yr)
4. ROUSE (2yr)
7. EGGLESHAW (1 more yr)
10. ARLDIGE (2yr) and SOCINO (2yr)
11. COBDEN (probable)
13. STREATHER (2yr)
14. SAVAGE (2yr)
15. JACKSON (2yr)

Hammond, Usasz, Sherriff and Cobden yet to re-sign.
The rest we still don't know.

April 20th, 2011 07:50 AM
annie I had some time on my hands and wrote a list of who had signed what and when... yes I am that sad!!!
April 20th, 2011 08:00 AM
bleedsgreenanwhite That must make me pretty sad too.
Any ideas if anyone is leaving?
April 20th, 2011 08:30 AM
annie Well... I believe that Sherriff will retire if he isn't offered a new deal - but personally can't see why he wouldn't be offered one. There's also been a lot of talk about Usasz leaving due to the rules on foreigners in the team - only allowed two (S Sea islanders, Europeans and SAs don't count). I wouldn't be at all surprised if Cesar left either, but that's purely my own opinion.
April 20th, 2011 11:53 AM
beak We have to keep Luke, he has been a quality player for us and was only in the Rugby Paper Dream team last year! Does a lot of the "unseen" work!
April 20th, 2011 04:17 PM
twit Agree totally, Luke is a massive player for us without getting the plaudits others do. He and Savage do so much good work in defence
April 21st, 2011 02:41 AM
beak Lee Morley re-signs! We really are building our old pack. Great news!
April 21st, 2011 04:00 AM
annie :)
April 21st, 2011 04:06 AM
bp Getting really excited now

April 21st, 2011 04:21 AM
Alison B
Great news, think the step ladder may come in handy next season:)
April 21st, 2011 01:14 PM
beak Anyone know anything about Halsall. Rolling maul website has someone saying he is leaving?
April 21st, 2011 02:21 PM
Retired winger Beak
15th Feb on our website has him signing for 2 years
April 22nd, 2011 03:07 AM
beak That is what I thought but we have seen players sign before then changer their mind!
April 22nd, 2011 06:00 AM
wag According to someone on rolling maul Martin Halsall is retiring.
April 22nd, 2011 06:38 AM
beak Nope not as him and Parr would have been pretty useful. Wonder what Nigel Hall is upto?

April 22nd, 2011 07:25 AM
wag beak.
Dont see how this could be true he only signed a 2yr contract in Feb so it can't be a long term injury.Surely something forcing him to retire this sudden would be annonced on the club website.
April 22nd, 2011 12:18 PM
bp Like they did with Rohan!!!
April 22nd, 2011 12:24 PM
SimonB In such circumstances insurance policies kick in and it is important that public comments are not made by the club before these are resolved fully as this may affect issues of liability.
April 28th, 2011 02:10 AM
beak Good news on Cobbo!
April 28th, 2011 04:57 AM
annie I'm really pleased we're tying these boys up on 2 year contracts, bodes very well indeed.
April 30th, 2011 05:58 PM
Retired winger Yes things are coming together for next season. Is there any truth in the rumour that Glenn is talking to Gavin Henson. If he comes to Nottingham I am sure he would respond to the togetherness of NRFC. However if there is any truth about Halsall retiring we need a replacement for him and perhaps some back up for our front line forward.
PS Hope everyone is supporting Worcester in the playoffs. We do not want them in the champioship next year Leeds will do us.
April 30th, 2011 07:00 PM
M2OGGTYFC Gavin Henson??? Ye Gods I've heard it all now!!!! A good player but a bit unpredictable, would we be able to rein him in???
Dont count your chickens about Leeds - it may be Newcastle!! Much as I dislike Worcester (and dont even get me STARTED on that Horstmann!!)I dont want Newcastle to come down. I would laugh loudly and for a long time if Worcester got beaten but thats a good point RW - I had more than enough of them this season thank you very much...
May 1st, 2011 04:03 AM
David Bowden Just as long as we don't try and play him out of position, stop him being available for Internationals or tell him off for putting ralgex in peoples shorts he would be fine.
May 1st, 2011 05:19 AM
annie Hell would freeze over before I supported Worcester! Firmly backing the Blues and the Pirates today!
