skypie You really are ill informed. When you first came you did'nt pay for the whole pitch we payed jointly. If it was'nt for Notts County you would have gone out of existance last year(ie payments for use of facilities). Lets just go back a short while, can you remember kicking Boots Athletic Fc off lady Bay you gave them assurances they could use facilities then knifed them in the back. What goes around comes around, quote from Boots fc web site.
July 29th, 2009 10:12 AM
nrfc "What goes around comes around "will apply to you the skypies in a few years won't it?
July 29th, 2009 10:20 AM
skypie Is that your answer. I can see I am talking to people with a high IQ
July 29th, 2009 10:36 AM
jeffersofnotts IQ? So NCFC cancel the ground sharing agreement claiming that the rugby games ruin the pitch and then go to court without any evidence to substantiate the claim.Talk about the pot calling the kettle black (and white).
July 29th, 2009 10:44 AM
GOOSE you may not be homeless for now but just remember the non-payment of rent is going to be strong grounds for eviction. Lets just hope you haven't spent all your money on legal fees and saved some for the rent payments!!!

Tyne This is what is say's on the Boots Ath FC web site:

Friday's Evening Post carries a back page headline 'Rugby kicked out of Meadow Lane' - explaining how Nottingham Rugby could be made homeless as the new Notts County regime is in the process of booting them off their ground

A NRFC source is quoted as being 'very disappointed' and 'as far as we are concerned we have a contract to use Meadow Lane next season'. According to their Chairman it 'could signal the end of professional rugby in the city'

Not very good when you get booted off your ground at short notice is it? My memory takes me back just a few years when NRFC were coming into Lady Bay. Over lunch with one of their top men (which I paid for), we were informed they'd look after us, that they saw Lady Bay as a genuine multi sport venue and that we needn't worry unduly about our future

Shortly afterwards, we were kicked off without further consultation or any kind of grace period in which to find a new ground (or financial help to do so). There's an old saying along the lines of 'what comes around goes around' - hopefully NRFC will be able to find another ground just as quickly as we did, but if it doesn't happen then maybe it's just a little bit of the past coming back to haunt them! No good crying when the boot's on the other foot fellas. No- one gave a toss about BAFC three years ago but we have survived and moved on. Will you?

If anyone from NRFC wants the number of the lady who books the pitches at Grove Farm then give me a ring, alternatively The Embankment might be an option- there you go, a little more help with relocation than you gave us!

May you all rest in peace !!!!!

tiger tim Notts bailed the rugby club out last season, how long do you suggest that goes on for. Also its not that long ago they got £600,000 fortheir land what happened to that. the reports of them keeping us alive is also false with the little income from attendance bars etc the staff we had to put on only barely covered it We did'nt have money they did but wasted it.
July 29th, 2009 10:54 AM
pd Are the people responsible for kicking boots afc at 3 weeks notice still involved at nottm rfc?
I hope not,as this seems the main reason why alot of notts fans are turning against the rugby club and i believe things are starting to turn a bit nasty!

mark.r It will be interesting to see what happens on Sunday 11th October. Nottingham are scheduled to play Rotherham at Meadow Lane but Sky have announced that the Notts County v Torquay Utd game will be televised live at 5.15pm. I can't see that the rugby will be played before the football. It would mean that the football would finish at 7pm giving very little time to turn things around for the rugby.
July 29th, 2009 11:01 AM
rugger jim As a tigers fan I will be coming to meadow lane. but just out of interest. Why havent you rellocated to a new ground for yourself after you sold your own ground ?

I am guessing that its cheaper being at meadow lane!!

;)

I would imagine that you would move your game, bearing in mind you are our guests and tennants. Therefore NCFC should get priority. I mean we do actually OWN the stadium that you want to use
July 29th, 2009 11:12 AM
mark.r Meadow Lane is actually owned by Nottingham City Council

That is funny, NCFC own the buildings and stadium, the land is leased through a sub-lease to NCFC by the Haydn Green estate which Haydn Green bought from the council. So I don't know where you got your information from
July 29th, 2009 11:33 AM
mark.r I stand corrected
July 29th, 2009 11:36 AM
Badger Idiots or realists, Sven in charge of a premiership Notts County...............Oh dear, I can see it all going sour for you pies also, Skint in 2 seasons, no Sven, no hope, and no money left after Munto Finance realise what an erroneous decision they made......Are you aware of the saying what goes around comes around, you mat say thanks Green & Whites for helping out when needy. I'm sure who will have the last laugh, when your rattling the tin again...........
July 29th, 2009 11:45 AM
Evicttheeggs If Trembling managed to get Sven to meadow lane he certainly wont tolerate a few dopey egg chasers mucking up his lawn! Unlike you bunch of clowns were going places! Ill give it a month at best
July 29th, 2009 11:50 AM
skypie Re Badger What gives you the idea you got us out of trouble were the one's with a ground your the one's who havnt and who do you think saved you last season.Plus I think its very short sighted of your supporters calling the new owners muppets. Dont you realize who uncomfortable they can really make it for you next year. I really think its rich of you after the way you treated Boots AFC
July 29th, 2009 11:51 AM
badger killer Hey badger. Why dont you go suck an egg, u pompus tw@t !!!
You will soon have no ground to play with your mis-shaped balls on, and your pathetic club will cease to exist!!!
Can you see the council or anyone else running to your rescue with alternative venues ?
No didnt think so !!!!!
Lets face it. Your club has pocketed the money for the sale of your ground and now its come back to haunt you.

Unlucky !!!! Green n whites !!!!!!
Lets hope you can keep up with your repayments !!!!
I say we shud double your rent !!! ;) ;)

Bob Geldof Leave the poor sods alone all they wanna do is throw Stewie Griffin's head around. You're welcome here anyday in my book.
July 29th, 2009 12:04 PM
geordie Just a little word the NCFC fans leaving comments. I am a both a rugby and football fan. Having supported Newcastle from the mid sixties I know all about new owners with deep pockets and big ideas. Regardless of who did what to whom during the recent fiasco the fact is NCFC are a team struggling at the foot of the football league. Unless the sons of the desert can persuade top flight players to the club then nothing will change. You can have the Swedish Svengali (?), you could dig up Alf Ramsey and you will still be struggling to maintain a place in the football league. I give it two seasons before the new owners roll up their tents and steal away into the night. One more point, name calling from neanderthals such as Evicttheggs and others only reinforce some peoples prejudices about football fans having IQ's relative to their shoe size.
July 29th, 2009 12:11 PM
skypie What I dont understand is why is all this Notts Countys fault. You have had plenty of time to sort a new ground out but done nothing(our fault). You have had a substantial amount of money for your old ground but wasted it(our fault). Its about time you took some responsibility for the decisions you have made and where it has left you (with nothing) NOT OUR FAULT
July 29th, 2009 12:12 PM
Evicttheeggs Get the clowns booted out! Joke of a club trousering that moneys come back and bitten you on your arse. Trembling will make life very difficult you wont last long at all. Rather play on a pitch than a sandpit if its all the same. JOG ON

beak As with Geordie I too am a County fan, so i despair at the idiots who have posted on here. The rugby club saved county a few years back and last year County helped us out. Both clubs had an excellent relationship until Munto came along and tried to ride roughshod over a legal contract. All this anti rugby stuff it quite pathetic. Have any of you actually bothered to see a game of rugby down at the lane? Last season the rugby players showed a lot more passion and loyalty than any that have worn the black and white shirt in the last few years. Just accept that Munto got it wrong by trying to kick the rugby club out 3 weeks before the start of the season. Both clubs are essential to the community. Success for both clubs can only enhance the city and it is a shame some people are to ignorant and short-sighted to see this. Good luck to both clubs but not at the expense of each other.
July 29th, 2009 12:27 PM
mark.r Guys, come to the Leicester Tigers friendly. You'll see what a great family atmosphere Rugby really is.
July 29th, 2009 12:31 PM
Evicttheeggs And see our pitch ruined? I am a notts fan and this was only ment to be a temporary measure! We could have easily booted you out last season but the difference is in trembling we have a ruler with a backbone who isnt afraid to make decisions like turfing the rugby out. Notts have been a nice club and a doormat for a nice day out for far too long
July 29th, 2009 12:37 PM
beak Evicttheeggs where does this rediculous attitude come from? Notts returned the favour last season. Nottingham saved County 4 years ago by paying there money earlier than they needed to. This season is a new contract that is unaffected by past seasons. The judge made it quite clear Nottingham did not go insolvent and the contract is perfectly legal.

As for ruining the pitch in August?? Try and think before you write. Seriously come down and have a look at the Leicester game. The rugby is of a very high standard and it would be a good chance to see what the club is about.

July 29th, 2009 01:11 PM
davida I'll never be able to think well of Notts County after this. The club has been unbelievably selfish over the last week or two, and the fans (well, some of them) see to be brain dead.

The sooner we're out of Meadow lane the better. Even if we end up at a lower level.
July 29th, 2009 02:06 PM
SimonB I see the knuckle draggers have landed!!

Just sums up everything thats wrong with football doesnt it

July 29th, 2009 02:11 PM
JeffW Chippy – I don’t think any of us mortals will have trouble avoiding the food and drink in Munto Lane. The poor quality and desperately jacked up prices have already driven most of us into The Globe, or in my case the Trent Navigation, last season. But what are you going to do with the sit down lunches/carvery/hospitality/1862 bar crowd?
The revenue from that area must dwarf that from the dodgy kiosks. You got a cunning plan? And to be honest the crowd in the Meadow Lane bar is mostly away fans anyway.

Looked like you were having fun on the ‘notts county mad’ message board....have you burnt your Nott’s (sic) shirt yet? I reckon you should video and Youtube it. ;)

Glad you’re back.

PS I reckon that this season we should tell Hammo to scrum every penalty.. and wheel it! :p

Err we have got the cash for when the rent’s due haven’t we?
