bp Oh dear, it doesn't take long for things to break down.
When the news of the eviction broke, we had lots of support from all areas, including the Notts fans. This support is still there.
Most Notts fans know we helped them out, just as they helped us last season. Most Nottm fans know this is a brilliant playing surface for our lads to succeed, all be it not the best, I feel, for the supporters. It was the best option for professional rugby to progress in Nottingham. This will come to an end after this season. Get over it, who knows we may find a better option.
Don't fall into the trap of thinking the NCFC morons who are posting on here represent the general attitude of the true supporters. There are still good relations there.
Lets look forward to a good years rugby, and a better one next year.

SVENSWEDISHMEATBALLS I could understand it if you were a big rugby league club but your not! Your rugby union chicken fodder

August 1st, 2009 04:15 PM
Kirky bp - the above two offerings only go to prove that the County "fans" demonstrate IQ levels in the low single digits. I wonder if they can spell IQ!
SVENSWEDISHMEATBALLS' comment is particularly revealing. Here is a Rugby Club that has been placed 3rd and 4th in successive seasons in their equivalant of the Championship - and where have they been performing? Nuff said!
I do agree that these muppets do not reflect the feeling amongst the normal County fans who are hugely embarrassed by the whole affair.

Truemagpie All the best to Nottingham Rugby club from a genuine Notts County Fan.

All the county fans I know are pretty embarrassed by this whole affair, which has taken the shine off an exciting time for the club.

Please ignore the boneheads above.

Anu Setateef Why are the roundball supporters moaning about the pitch for? When County play the ball very rarely touches the surface anyway. As for Preniership ambitions try getting out of League 2 first. :D

davida All the silly posts are probably coming from one or two weirdos. Just ignore them.

geordie I wish NCFC all the very best and hope they do achieve the Premiership. I fell with out with Rushcliffe Rovers when they were demoted and not only kept their prices at Premiership level but then had the cheek to increase them. To be honest I went there to see the opposition, in particular NEWCASSELL!!!!!
Davida has hit the nail on the head. The deal is done, lets get on with both teams gaining promotion on the jointly funded turf.

eggchaser Couldnít help but notice how nice the pitch looked in Countyís game last Saturday. Seemed to have been cut nice and short as well. Wonder how itís going to look next week? :p

peterc Great first result for County.
But I suppose the first time they lose at home it will be our fault as we've damaged the hallowed turf!
August 12th, 2009 02:34 PM
eggchaser Second result back to normal though. Presumably the Donnie goal bobbled in off a nasty lump on that cut up pitch? Oh we haven't used it yet have we?
Never thought I'd say this but "Well done Donnie".
August 12th, 2009 04:08 PM
notts fan You know eggchaser i had sympathy for the rugby club but you as an individual and your comments put you in the same box as the idiots at notts posting idiotic comments about how the pitch will look. Have you not thought that if you deliberately tear up our pitch you`ll find yourselfs back in the high court with the evidence we didn`t have last time.

I used to come to the lane and watch you play with 7 other Notts supporters but we are not going to follow you anymore your almost as bad as the other lot over the trent. You`ll be calling us clownty next and i hope you get ripped to shreads by the tigers after your donny comment.
August 12th, 2009 04:37 PM
beak Notts fan - surely you can understand that this has caused a lot of upset at the club. It is not County we have a problem with, just your owners. Good luck to your team and i do hope yuo still come and watch the rugby.
August 12th, 2009 04:49 PM
forever rugby Notts Fan - both Notts County and the Rugby club have a minority of fans that will always incite comment as oppose to trying to defuse and find common ground with each other.
The issue has never been with the supporters or the club itself just with the actions of your new owners but I still wish the club itself all the success in the world as it is long overdue

notts fan I`m sorry for saying what i did about your next match it`s idiots like eggchaser that get my back up. to be perfectly honest we as supporters have not got a clue why the chairman has used such methods it appears to be very harsh. I for one wish you all the best in the forthcoming season and hope that this does not leave a bitter taste in mouths of either sets of supporters.

As for going down myself i don`t really want to sit amounst you daring not to speak as you say nasty things about my beloved club. Not saying its going to happen as i`m sure the majority won`t but you get my point.

garethlowry Dear eggchaser and notts fan... please do not bicker as after all we have something in common... that we are sports fans.
I have it on good authority (and I mean this) that the pitch problems are nothing to do with either the football or rugby useage... moreover it is the fact that the whole side in front of the Pavis stand never gets the sun and therefore never drys out.
Most of us rugby fans have enjoyed the hospitality at Meadow Lane and would like to see NCFC do well.
All of the current issues seem to be more to do with faceless venture capitalists rather than true fans and attendees of Meadow Lane.
Unfortunately these investors do not seem to recognise gentlemens agreements and ethical operations like the one between NRFC and John Armstrong Holmes.
It would be nice if Peter Trembling would keep the status quo for this season and we will be happy to find a new venue for 2010/11. However I fear that higher powers out of his hands dictate otherwise and things may be made difficult for us.

Munto Finance people.... come and have the decency to show your faces and put on a question and answer event and face both NRFC and NCFC members.
You have released a press statement indicating that you are concerned for community sport etc.... your current actions contradict this. Many youngsters lives are turned round by NRFC's community work...... Surely it is important that you do not have a detrimental effect on this... one season is a short time in the grand scheme of things!

JeffW Gareth Ė youíre spot on that the shadow of the Pavis stand is the real problem for the pitch. Donít forget the reason weíve had games called off in the last few season is frost still in the ground where itís shaded by the stand. As you say a wet start to the season and itíll not dry out until next year. But we donít help with the sheer number of people there are in and around the technical areas. A dozen or so replacements warming up and running on and off, all our coaches, backroom and medical staff, are all in that dodgy area. Itís a shame but itís down to the orientation of the ground, not those using it.

Notts fan Ė come on down to a game Ė if we can manage to sit mixed up with the away fans, Iíd hope we can welcome fans from our own city. As has been said elsewhere our problem is with the new owners of your club, not the long suffering supporters. ;)

Badger As I saw it on tuesday evening last County should have been 3 0 up at half time. personally I thought they played really well, went off a bit during the opening 20 mins of the 2nd half, but were always there. Realistically as I keep banging on, we are not wanted at Meadow Lane, nowt to do with the fans, but down to money men with no affinity with the city, put your shoulders back green & Whites and move on. The harsh reality is, when we go cap in hand stating we are having problems paying the rent again, we are going to get no quarter, as I truly believe any or suspected indiscretion will be pounced on! Lets go
