Sack the Tide Master!!!

A record field of 65 starters lined up at Pettycur Beach car-park for the 3rd Nightmare Race of the winter series.
Price Twiggy of Darkness took the early lead only to be halted by the knee-deep tide lapping around the headland. Alastair Robertson at this point scored a 9.6 score for his headlong dive in the surf while up at the front of the field Adrian Davis and Graham Bee surged away into the lead. The two rounded the halfway point just before the Black Rock together chased by u20 athlete John Hargreaves (Carnegie).
With the incoming tide now deeper at the headland the Tide Master directed the field onto the rocky foot-path where the Fife AC duos hopes of victory were sunk without trace on the rocks. Coming off the rocks it was Hargreaves that took the best line across the sand to tease out a 4 second advantage over the final 300m. Hargeaves covered the 3 mile course in 15 minutes 54 seconds ahead of Bee (15.56) and Davis (16.06) with Prince Twiggy in 4th (16.09).
Lady of the Night,Jocelyn Scott excelled to place 23rd, first woman in 20 minutes 57 seconds. Holly (Beacon) placed first dog.
