Carnegie Harrier John Hargreaves maintained his unbeaten record in the Nightmare Series pulling away from Chris Russell at the halfway turning point at the Black Rock to win in 14 minutes 51 seconds. With several members of the coast guard in attendance over the 2.7 mile course over Pettycur Beach the route was alight with beacons guiding the field of fifty-eight runners to the rock and return from the start/finish at the beach car-park. Scottish hill internationalist Claire Gordon (HBT) ran well to place 10th, first female in 17.38 ahead of colleague Jessica Batterham in 18th.
