April 20th, 2005 05:17 PM Graham Bennison THE SUMMER HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED ! Thanks Fife AC for a fabulous turn-out !!! Fife AC’s long standing Mid-Week Summer Series kicked off with the St Andrews 5km (Wed.20th, April) at St Andrews University. Graham Bee (Fife AC) made a quick trip to home territory from his base at Aberdeen University to clock 16 minutes 33 seconds over the 3-lap course around the playing fields. Steve Clark (Fife AC) followed in 16.47 with EZ Carnegie junior John Hargreaves preventing a Fife clean-sweep in third. GB track internationalist Hayley Ovens (ESH) made her annual trip to this event placing 10th overall, first woman in 18 minutes with Elizabeth Stuart (Aberdeen AAC) 29th overall – 19.27. Under 15 athlete Jennifer Kibble followed up her fine run at the London Mini Marathon to place 41st overall, third female. An amazing 37 Fife AC women members turned out amongst the field of 160. [Edited by fifeac] April 22nd, 2005 04:49 AM Twiggy Great turnout and great organising but i have a query. shouldnt the prize giving be one prize per person? as has often happened in the past, a junior was awarded two prizes on wednesday night. John Hargreaves was 3rd overall and 1st junior but he surely should only have picked up the prize for 1st junior. Thus Neil Gunstone would have been 3rd overall. or if John was awarded 3rd overall only then another junior would have benefitted. what if Jennifer Kibble had won for example - would she have got 1st overall, 1st female and 1st Junior?
