Topic: FULL RESULTS of Fife 50K Race

May 10th, 2005 03:08 PM fifeac Fife 50km (incorporating Scottish championships) Colin Deasy (Coventry Godiva) led from start to finish at the Fife 50km (31.25miles) road race at Glenrothes which incorporated the Scottish 50km Championship. Run over fourteen laps of 3.58 kilometres Deasy clocked 3 hours 12 minutes 32 seconds with Andy Farquharson (Kent AC) in second taking the Scottish title. Third place and Scottish veteran title went to Terry Mitchell (Fife AC) completing his first race since last November. The former GB marathon internationalist, holder of the course record at 3 hours 2 minutes clocked 3 hours 30 minutes putting in a typically gritty performance. There was a dramatic finish in the women’s race as Elaine Calder (Strathaven Striders) attempted to raise her pace over the final 150 metres finishing an agonising 5 seconds outside the women’s course record in 3 hours 58 minutes 05 seconds. Pauline Walker (Carnegie) followed just over three minutes down chased by Mhairi Douglas (Dunfries RC) another twenty seconds back in third.
