Posted 24-08-2009 12:04 AM IP evening all,
Well I think everyone enjoyed the sunday ride today that turned up, pretty good turn out
There has already been a suggestion for next week.
Suggested route is Ross to Upton on Seven (next to Malvern) that is flatish (except for one hill)
Nice cake stop, then back from Malvern area via Ledbury for a rolling by gentle paced return
All at a social pace! Anyone that wants more of a workout can sit at the front or cycle down the hills and back up while waiting for the rest of the crew
Time has been suggested at a compromising time of 8am, rather than the late start 9am or the tad early 7am. Still allows for you to get back to familes around midday to 1pm
any input appriciated guys, as it is our ride

Posted 24-08-2009 04:48 PM IP I may have a bad head, so am probs out....
But---------
Monday (bank holiday, weekend) will be doing a long steady ride to Rhyader, back through Builth Wells. 12 hour training at a steady speed, with a few cut off along the way for those who don't fancy the full 130 miles. I'm happy to sit on the front all day. If the weathers nice a diversion over Upper & Lower Chaple may be in order. There is a nice diner stop in Rhyader. Will be leaving at 9:00, let me know if your coming. wasn't me

Posted 25-08-2009 01:34 PM IP After considering the matter very, very, carefully, taking into account the weather, the result of Preston North Ends Saturday game, any itches I might get, the cuisine on offer, my winning the long hill climb, I have decided I will honour Dave and Will with my presence on Sunday @ 8am.
Now, don't take this personally Paul. It's just that I did your ride this morning. I can reccommend the sausages in Rhyader. Bill R.

Posted 27-08-2009 08:23 PM IP Can you give me the route and approx timing into Ledbury and I'll meet you folks there. If you want I can put a couple of country lane deviations in which can take out Hollybush or add to it.

Posted 28-08-2009 09:06 AM IP Trying to time it for a decent tea stop at Upton so Ledbury will be on the way home. Open to offers but thought for the route would be from Ross Market Place out through Walford and slowly up the Ruardean Hill we did last night carry on over Plump Hill, Mitcheldean and Lea per the common Friday night ride. Take a right on The A40 and then turn left to head over to Aston Ingham. From here as flat as it gets all the way to Upton; Newent, Upleadon, Staunton etc to Upton. Lovely cake stop at a place by the river, can highly recommend the cream teas. Home leg open to suggestions, most direct route and relatively short is over to Malvern then Ledbury. Dave

Posted 28-08-2009 03:12 PM IP I'll head for Lea traffic lights then. If you're leaving Ross at 8am then Lea at 9 would be about right? I'll set off about 815 I think
If any different let me know please.
Steve

Posted 01-09-2009 08:56 PM IP Just had to check what Phyllosan was. It's ok, there's lots of them in a kebab, steak and ale pies and chicken tika pasties.
Lost lots of weight on that ride as well. Must put it back on! wasn't me
