Hi guys,

I felt the expedition was a great success. It was the first ever Ontario Expedition. We have so much work to do. This province is absolutely huge and boasts the most intact boreal forest in the world. I believe that next to BC, Ontario just might harbour the greatest population of Sasquatches in Canada. At present Ontario is second in reports on this sight.

Chris is right. I was hoping for more contact, but there might have been a reason for this whichi is something I am looking into at present. We might have learned something very important here. I will post that later after I research it a little more.

Here are the results. We had one person claim a "Class A" sighting on Hwy #17 while driving to get firewood. I apparently crossed the road, down the ditch and into the forest. He stopped the car, got out and followed it into the forest. He then felt a little apprehensive and went back into his car and advised us when he returned to camp. A small, partial print was found at the same location, but it was hard to see due to the gravel on the shoulder of the road. Many people found prints and lots of stick structures. Two woodknocks were heard and a few possible vocals in the form of "coughs" and "whistles".

That's it in a nutshell. It poured all day Friday and Sunday, but no one complained. Everyone was excellent and worked hard. A great group of people. I thank everyone. Chirs, you and Cory were great. You guys are fearless and are "workhorses". Thanks.

Out of that group I have a new Ontario Investigator and a new investigator for Quebec.

So, I consider this a very successful expedition.

We are working on the location for next years expedition.

Regards,

Onil

I am new to this message board and just came across this website last week. It is nice to see a group of interested individuals investigating the Bigfoot sightings from past and present. I am a long resident of Northern Ontario and have spent many years running the great outdoors here. I have encountered much unexplained phenomena(sounds)etc., but never a sighting of any kind that could be considered a bigfoot. As someone mentioned Northen Ontario has many huge areas were many does not tread or rarely treads. No doubt in my mind this legendary creature could exist. I have heard more than one story told from persons I know well that they have made sightings they could not explain and were hesitant to tell their story!!!

A possible BF sighting occurred on a secondary highway between the towns of Wawa Ont. and Timmins Ont. this past weekend according to a local FM radio station. Did anyone else recieve info of such a sighting?

No Jimmy, I did not hear anything about that. That's close to an area we are working at present. Could you please try and find out where EXACTLY that was or who to contact with regards to that info.

Thanks.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I tried to look for it on the net, but I've had no luck. I'm very interested to see that report or speak to that witness.

Do you know which town the radio broadcast was from?
Around there you have Chapleau, Wawa, Timmins, or CBC maybe.

The radio station was from the Sault ste marie area south of Wawa. The reported sighting though was on the highway linking Wawa and Timmins. Unfortunatly no better coordinates are available at this time....still researching!

No, I did not find the report mentioned in this thread. If anyone does I would greatly appreciate it because I am trying to compile as much data as I can on that area from SSM to Wawa and east to the Searchmount area. It's a huge tract of land completely covered with forest and areas that I feel have never been explored completely.

I plan on doing a few private investigations this year up in that area and I feel very optimistic about the results based on what I know. I will definitely keep everyone posted with results.

I live in the sault area and didn't hear anything about this, although I could give you info on likely media sources that would have covered it, if you're interested.

Hello mandora & Onasgupta, I'm a Sault Ste.Marie native, born and bread there. I've hunted and fished all the areas from Wawa to Timmins. Maybe we can compare notes on the area sometime. I am living in eastern ON at the moment but will be returning home to the north for good this spring. I plan to be in the Elliot Lake area where there is plenty of lakes with good fishing. I look forward to scouting with others, hopefully with Onasgupta too, now that I'm more aware of what to look for in signs of BF activity and may be helpful as I know the area well. Please contact me anytime.

That'd be neat, if we could all get together and compare notes. I've lived in the Sault for almost 20 years now (originally from the Sudbury area). I know the northern ontario wilderness pretty well, but I've never actually seen anything or had any encounters that I could definitely say were a squatch. I've had a lot of 'maybe' moments, and I've heard stories. I'd be interested in heading into the field too, if you're interested when you get back.

Mandora and odasgupta, are you people still active? OldBushman and I are now back in Northern Ontario and have been camping out at a lake for 23 days, and have some very interesting things to report. I did make a report to BFRO, and did email you odasgupta but have yet gotten no response from anyone. Just wondering if my report was rec'd or not. Hope to hear back from someone soon. Also took pics of a tree formation not far from our camp, heard large rocks going down into the water many times that kept moving closer to camp, limb breaking, twigs snapping, a low throaty growl outside tent in dead of night..lots of very exciting experiences. We are hoping the near future will bring an expedition up this way to check this area out. Directly across from our camp on the lake was a cave entrance that we kept an eye on daily. We had a visitor across the lake that observed us for quite a while then it left, it looked very much like a reclining squatch, with just the head and shoulders visable above the tall shore grasses. The area where we live and camped is peppered with old uranium mines. I feel this would be an ideal area.
