FIFE AC 50K ROAD RACE, GLENROTHES
Fife AC hosted the Scottish 50km Championships at Glenrothes Sports Institute won by former Scottish marathon champion Jamie Reid (RH Cambuslang) in 3 hours 10 minutes 35 seconds. Womens winner Debbie Cox (City of Glasgow) placed 15th overall clocking 4 hours 23 minutes 25 seconds.
Bob Allison, Glenrothes, flew the flag for Fife placing 18th in 4 hours 29 minutes 22 seconds.
SCOTTISH DISABILITY CHAMPIONSHIPS, GLASGOW
Wheelchair athlete Derek Frew was in gold medal winning form at the Scottish Disability Championships at Scotstoun winning two gold and one silver medal. Derek won the 100m title in 17.11 seconds followed by victory in the 200m (32.06). A second place in the 400m was timed at 63.68 seconds.
STRATHKINNESS/BLEBOCRAIGS RACE
The second race in the Fife Mid-Week Summer Series - the Stnathkinness/Blebocraigs race saw a fine turn-out of 117 runners. The route took the field of runners along the Strathkinness High Road and then the uphill climb to Flisk before heading around Blebocraigs to Easter Clatto Farm and then the final gradual downhill finish to Bonthrone Road. The panoramic view from Clatto was eclipsed for the second successive year by rain clouds although the finish over Strathkinness was illuminated by a beautiful rainbow.
A Fife AC clean-sweep of the leading positions was headed by Andrew Liston who clocked a record time of 24 minutes 07 seconds over the 4.5 mile multi-terrain course. Chrs Russell chased home in 24.47 with winner of the first race in the series Quentin Reeve in third (25.00).
Maiy McIntyre (Dundee RR) set a new womens record of 30 minutes 07 seconds ahead of Morag Taggart (Dundee RR) - 30.47 and Jeniffer Kibble, Balmullo, (Fife AC junior) - 31.12.
Ten members of the womens jogging group made the transition to what is a much tougher event than the recent St.Andrews 5km with more than respectable times the result.

Up at the Stonehaven Prom 3km race Graham Bee, Kinkcaldy, placed 4th in 9 minutes 12 seconds with winner Darren Shinnie (Aberdeen) clocking 8 minutes 50 seconds.
EZ CARNEGIE 2 MILE RACE, DUNFERMLINE
Dave Anderson finished 3rd at the 2 mile race in Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline in 10 minutes 50 seconds, only seven seconds down on winner Robert Milton (Carnegie). Jim Hannigan, Glenrothes, placed 5th (11.05).
KINROSS 10K
Dave Anderson, Milnathort, was Fife's top runner at the Kinross High School PTA 10km road race around the grounds of Kinross House placing 11th, third over 40 veteran in 33 minutes 36 seconds.
