The MPSSAA has every full state meet result dating back to 1980, before that there isn't much there. I have for the last few years been getting all of these state meet results typed up and put online.
One thing I started a couple years ago was I started keeping track of every team that qualified for states (in a spreadsheet).
I had done this with Carroll and Frederick County, and thought it might be interesting for Montgomery County too.
Here is a complete list of when each team qualified for states over the last 31 years (note: I am missing the state meet results for girls for A and AA in 1982. I have them at home somewhere, and will update when I find them):

I'm curious about PG County. |

If I have time tomorrow I will work on PG county, although I think Howard county might be more interesting. |

Yeah, Howard County might be the one to do first, but I'm definitely interested in seeing PG at some point, one school in particular being High Point, though seeing how ER has done going all the way back to '80 would also be cool. |

I added Howard County and PG County to the link above (sorry for not posting here, it is easier to create a table on the Frederick County Running message Board, would have taken me a while to get it some what lined up here).
Link again if you need it: http://fredco.proboards.com/index.c...read=840&page=1 |

That's impressive that Atholton has sent someone every year on the guys' side. Quite a few powerhouses in Howard actually. And didn't realize Bowie was anywhere near ER in getting guys (and girls) to states. |

The Middletown Boys, Westminster Boys and Atholton Boys all have qualified a perfect 31 for 31 for states since 1980. All three have a shot at qualifying this year, but all three are not locks. It could be interesting...
On the girls side, I am missing the 1982 A and AA results (I know I have them at home somewhere, I just can't find them right now), but the Dulaney girls have qualified for states in every other year - I would be willing to bet they qualified in 1982 and I will find out. If they did then they are the only girls team to qualify every year since 1980. |

Blake opened in 1998, same year as Northwest, not 1982. Still, that is an unfortunate goose egg for the Blake girls. Kids today would be surprised to know that schools like Wheaton and Kennedy had their glory days and it's not impossible to return to prominence. Einstein was down for a good 20 years, but they are back.
Also I don't think Northwood had athletics between 1985 and 2003. The wiki page says it "was used to hold students from other high schools which were being renovated." In 2004-2005 they had freshman only, in 2005-2006 they had freshmen and sophomores, etc. So I would divide Northwood by 12 instead of 31. |

These are the Kennedy champs I have found from the past. In the 70s and 80s they had some solid runners in xc and track
Men - XC Champs in 74
XC Individual Champs
Ed Boggess 73,74
John Holcomb 75
Indoor/Outdoor Champs
Boggess won the 1975 outdoor mile in 4:18 and set a state 3a record in the 2mile in 9:24.
Women - XC Champs in 83
XC Individual Champs -
Beth Jacobson 82,83,84
Kim Many - 88
Tonya Watson - 91
Indoor/Outdoor State Champs
83 - Michelle Conroy indoor 2 mile in 11:42
83 - Jacobson Outdoor 3200 in 11:04.7
85 - Jacobson indoor mile in 5:16
88 - Many indoor mile in 5:16
88 - Many indoor 2mile in 11:20
89 - Many indoor 2mile 11:49
89 - Many outdoor 3200 in 11:32
One of our fine officials and starters Ray Boss told me to look up Peter Kirk in results. I only found one time and it was a two mile in 1973. 9:17. Ray told me he had kids that go to Rockville and at the moment Rockville has two kids named Kirk on the team.

Dunston also told me an interesting story about the 73 or 74 Woodward relays where the Kennedy guys won and after the race they cooled down from Woodward to Kennedy which is about a 7 mile run.
The old Woodward is current Tilden correct? |

That's because at Blake more kids are interested in being in the school's rendition of another awful made for tv disney musical than shed a few pounds. |

Neither the Atholton Boys or Middletown boys qualified for states, while Westminster boys and Dulaney girls did.
That means the Westminster boys and Dulaney girls are the only teams in the state to qualify for states for 32+ straight years!!
