When I try to copy anything to my TI-84 Plus I keep getting the error message - Access Denied (80070005) - any help out there? I am using TI Connect with device explorer.

I saw somebody else where say they uninstalled Graph Link and TI Connect started working. Which is lame if you need a program editor.

I'm having the same exact problem, I've tried everything, I've reinstalled the OS on my calc. I've tried clearing my RAM right be4 trying to load a cool game. My batteries are always fully charged, because I have rechargeables. One thing tho.... I got the calc yesterday and first thing I did was load a shell, install the newest OS and install a game on it. That all worked yesterday evening. But, last night I noticed my TI-84plus Silver Edition was running quite slow due to the extra and useless applications such as Organize and all of the different language apps, anyway......I deleted those extra apps and now I get a message Access Denied or the message, There was an error trying again might work, or something along those lines. I have tryed getting games on several different computers but, nothing worked, except redownloading the OS. I hope I'm not just rambling on about nonsense and u guys can help me somehow

I am having the same problem but don't understand how to fix it. Last night I was able to download and transfer game programs but when i tried today "access is denied 80070005" kept on coming up.
How would I downgrade from 2.41 or reinstall the OS? As well as the error message, it said that the USB might have a malfunction- is there anyway to change that or do I need a new one?

And to think when TI announced it was putting out a USB cable and TI Connect I thought it would take care of all the linking problems once and for all. It's only made them worse, because the error messages don't give you any idea of what's actually wrong.

There is a "teacher key" that will turn off downloads and programs. See if you can turn off the teacher key & you'll be okay.

Everybody listen up!! I've been having the same problem for around two months, and it's really been a drag on my assembly programming. One day, when I was using my laptop in the car, I didn't receive the error message once, and everything was sent to the calculator without fail. I wondered, "what could the car have to do with this?" Then it hit me. You have to be disconnected from the internet for it to work. For whatever the reason, internet screws it up. So if you have a dial-up connection, just disconnect. If you have broadband, either disable your network adapter, or unplug your network cable.
Hope I helped

That's incredibly horrific and I completely believe you. It sounds just like one of TI's TI Connect screw-ups.

One should think that having any given version of software wouldn't be the cause of TI's programs breaking. I tend to think it's something on the TI Connect end that is inventing a false problem, but who knows really.

It doesn't help that I've never encountered the problem myself, I don't even have an 83 family calculator. USB is too much of a black box to really know what the hell is going on. Maybe somebody elsewhere has figured it out, I haven't really been out there lately, but my guess is not. I guess all I can suggest is barrage TI's tech support e-mail and/or phone number.

That's as good an explanation as any. The one time one of my calculators refused to talk to the computer using the USB TI Connect cable, when I tried it again a little later it worked fine.

I just bought a new TI84+, and was able to transfer a couple of files, but then I ran into this problem.

If you notice, the little windows sound indicating a USB device has been disconnected happens, followed immediately by the connect sound. This led me to believe the problem was neither with the calculator nor the TIConnect software, but rather the windows device driver.

This matches up with what everyone is saying - that they reinstalled the calc OS or the software, and the problem persists.

I did a system restore to before the driver was installed, reinstalled it, and the problem was fixed.

If there are any programmers out there that do custom drivers (or if any of the tech people at TI read this), try looking into debugging the driver to fix this problem.

Here is the answer everyone. You have waited long for this.

RESET ALL MEMORY. Solves the issue.

here is how.. :

2nd -> + (Mem) -> scroll down to "Reset.." ->
scroll Right to "ALL" -> enter -> and reset.

YES, it deletes EVERYTHING.

But you can simply download whatever you had
because now it will work 100%.

I had that same problem too, but I couldn't transfer to other calcs. I tried everything, and realized there was only one possible explanation...the OS. I downgraded from 2.41 to 2.40, and it worked just fine. I think it's just a bad OS.

I'm basically having the same problem, but When I tried Reinstalling the OS, it gave me the same access denied error.

Now its stuck at the Installing message, and won't let me even reinstall it...

this is really stupid. I'm hating it. so. much.
