Hello,

I am looking for a possible way to solve PDEs like the following with the TI 89:

1) A general solution for: d^2u/dx^2 + 3* du/dy=0
or
2) Wave equation: d^2u/dt^2=4* d^2u/dx^2
for 0<=x<=pi boundary conditions u(0,t)=0 and u(pi,t)=0
IC: u(x,o)=sin(2x)+5*sin(5x) and u_t(x,0)=2sin3x
Or
3)general solution to the heat equation: du/dt=c^2 * D^2u/dx^2 on an interval from 0 to L
Etc.

If PDESolve can assist with the solution(s) then any help with the syntax would be very much appreciated. Otherwise, I would be grateful for any other hints or pointers.

Thanks -- Eric.

Eric

Try "Diff Eq 2.06":

Lars' DiffEq package doesn't solve PDEs, though (at least as far as I know).
