I was looking through my old DVD's and I had the idea of trying to put together some kind of compilation of some of the greatest XWF Superstars of all-time. I considered a top 100 but that would probably be impossible to pull of so I think a top 50 is doable.

Here was my idea:

50 guys, in order from 50 to 1 in whatever order you believe they belong in. Each superstar gains points depend on their positioning in the ranks. 50 gets 1, 49 gets 2, 1 gets 50, etc.

I'd love to see who everybody would rank where and I'm sure a lot of other guys would definitely be interested in seeing this.

It's a work in progress so I'm welcome to ideas and opinions to see if we can try and work something out.

This is going to be a ****ing challenge. I'm delving back into the memory banks here from guys from 2000 and it's gonna take some time to organize these.

We could probably easily do the Top 100 IMO, but I can't imagine how long that one is gonna take.

I say, first we get a list of 50, in no order. Then when we have the list we can arrange the after the list is set.

hope that makes sense.

People won't agree on a top 50.

My idea was that people PM their respective top 50's to me and I'd total up the points for each person. Like I said, 1 point for placing 50th on a list through to 50 points for placing first. Then ordering the top 50 with the person with the most points at number one.

Then again, people could place themselves first and end up on the list because of it.

No self-voting would make sense.

Are we going to do one slot a handler or are some people going to be a pain in the ass to decide whether they should be on twice? i.e. Lee Stone/Kieran King, Drake Komodo/Ace Vincent, Shane Carver, etc.

Kieran who and Ace what now?

I think it should come down to one character per handler.

Probably worth giving this the full month in case anyone comes across this a few days late.

Send me YOUR top 50 XWF Superstars of all-time (Please order them from 50th through to 1st).
One character per handler (No voting for C2 AND Shawn Christopher for example).

Voting shall go as follows:
A 50th placement will receive 1 point, a 49th placement will receive 2 points, a 1st placement will receive 50 points, etc.

Try to take into account EVERYONE through XWF history. Things like multiple/memorable big Title reigns, big match victories and great feuds should all be weighed in when it comes to voting but your own listing will come down to personal preference.

The closing date for votes will be the 31st of August. I should have the results ready for the next day.

I'll probably tally votes as they come in so if you guys want to hear provisional positions, you're more than welcome to ask.

Now go get those brains working long and hard, the XWF has a long prestigious history so let's try and do it justice.

Just do what you can. It doesn't need to be a list of the 50 greatest roleplayers. When I had the idea, two of the first names to come to mind were Mungbean and Honkey Lighthouse.

That kind of defeats the purpose.

Ranking system is to RANK them.

Ryan did this over in WPW a few months ago...he spent a long time working on it. I think a few of the top 5 were out of whack, but overall it turned out great. It will be hard, but I think overall it needs to be done here.

I'll get on this when I get a chance. I think I can probably whack out a total 50. It's just a shame that my two Uni title reigns came from different characters. Oh my vanity...

hrnnn... I could try to name 50. I have a pretty solid idea on a 10 top. Maybe even a top 20.

Now I have a curious question. What if you are like a Lee Stone for example, who is a sure fire top 10 guy. Can they still vote for them selves if the placement is releastic? Ya know Lee Stone placing him self in the top 10 is relastic, then say Dr Badd placing him self in the top 10 isn't.

I'd say most definitely. I put myself on my list because if I didn't, I would take a major penalty on the rankings. Basically, if people didn't vote for themselves, it would give an advantage to anyone who hasn't voted.

Already had a few votes in, 68 names have been thrown out over 3 votes so far.

No votes for Honkey Lighthouse yet.

EDIT: For this that struggle to remember everyone, hopefully this will help a little- http://web.archive.org/web/20090302...wf2/roster.html

Damn. This makes clear sense, but I hate having to toot my own horn and rank myself in these things. I'm just not wired to do that. You're right though, this will be skewed incorrectly quite a bit if we don't.

Maybe I should do this in character so I can be boldly arrogant with ease. :D
